The trail had a mostly snow and ice with a few patches of mud. Would definitely recommend micro-spikes it made it so much easier! Very pretty view, especially if you decide to climb horsetooth rock. There is a $9 fee to park.

Nice trail to hit near Fort Collins after work or for an easy day hike. Definitely easy enough for a beginner or if you enjoy trail running. There was lots of snow on the trail, but easy to navigate without any spikes. Appreciate the restroom midway which is decently clean.

Fresh snow, severe single track, some post hoping. Makes for a great power run.

Hiked on 2/9. Some fresh snow, but mostly packed, snowshoes not needed, I wore micro spikes. I planned to hike Soderberg, W, to horsetooth rock, but spring creek was closed at merger with Soderberg due to nesting. Nice very quiet hike as it was a cold snowy day

This a good little hike to overlook the Fort Collins area and Horsetooth reservoir. As a first timer to the trail the trail map was missing or just non existent so the trail head is north of the parking lot. There is a fee of $9 to use the parking area even out of season and the toilets are closed. If you are a first timer do beware that if you pass the parking area there is a tire deflation device if you try and enter the wrong way!

Trail was snow packed. Not a lot of people. Some geese and smaller black birds (couldn’t identify).
