Loved the hike with my family, 3 generations hiked together and we are all at different skill levels! It is amazing for family and anyone who wants to enjoy a simpler hike!

This is a great hike! Last time I tried to do this trail it was way way too muddy about halfway up. But today it was perfect! I went around noon and was out for a couple hours, my tracker said 4.5 miles by the time I got back to the car. Make sure to wear sunscreen as there is no tree cover and bring lots of water. It was about 90 degrees today and sunny but I still enjoyed the hike! Pretty easy hike with lots of flat areas and a few hogbacks. Great 360 view at the top!

Love this hike! Have fun!

93 degrees today and barely any shade to speak of on this trail! Tons of barking prairie dogs and pups along the west side of the trail loop and mamma and baby ducks in the pond. Great views, but definitely recommend this hike for a cooler or more overcast day!

Loved this hike. It was somewhat hard to find w/Google Maps. Ignore Google directions. Do not turn onto Riverside, keep on hey to entrance

This time of year the crowds are out daily, not just on the weekend. Get there early for good parking. After you hike to the falls, take Spring Creek trail to see a pretty little valley and lots of birds (if you go early in the morning). Lots of wildflowers are out right now, too. Because it's breeding season, you'll have to turn up Soderberg trail where it intersects Spring Creek since the rest of Spring Creek trail is blocked from use right now. You can either hike up to the tooth or head back to the parking lot from there. Great hike!

Starting at the parking lot off Overland Trail Drive it's a nice easy flat hike to the foothills. There's no shade so bring extra water on a hot day. On the Foothills trail you'll see the open space is abutted by private farms, but gorgeous views of the foot hills. You don't want to miss the view from the top. Awesome views of Fort Collins and the Reservoir from up here. There are pit toilets at the parking lot off Overland and Michaud Spur. Birds included redwing black birds as there are some marshy areas and a little creek. Trail is open for hikers, runners, dogs, and bikes so keep one ear bud out.

Great little loop! It helped to have the map because some of the signs San be confusing. Absolutely gorgeous views. If you are an out of towner, take it slow.

70° start, multiple snakes on the trail, low foot traffic...overall a great little hike.

Hiked this trail yesterday with my dog. Great weather and serene views. Saw a few wild birds and lots of chunky bumblebees. Good hike and parking was easy to find too.

5/28/18 - We parked in Bellvue. Hiked all the way to Claymore Lake and back. It was roughly 6 miles.
Recently we've experienced some rains. Everywhere you looked was so nice and green. Saw a variety of wild flowers. We hiked on a cloudy day. Making it a perfect day to hike this trail!...there's no tree coverage.
There was lots of loose rock. Passed bikers, joggers, hikers, and ones on horseback.

Hiked this on 5/20/2018 in light rain. The horsetooth peak scramble was a bit sketchy in the rain and would not recommend doing this unless you are confident with your walking. Good view from down low, but at summit was in the rain cloud and couldn't see anything. Still very cool.

Beautiful hike! Not a lot of sun cover so I’d recommend going on a cool overcast day. Views throughout are spectacular and the end of the trail is a great payoff. Would recommend!

Great trail with many different options. Right now there is horse poop on some parts of the trail, not inconvenient for me personally but my dog kept trying to eat it (yuck). Will definitely be frequenting this area.

Enjoyed this hike even though it was hot!! We went in the morning so not too bad. Well maintained path. Last part was the best! Walking up the rocks!

Easy family hike, lots of people.

Easy, short trail that is doable for anyone. The falls are most active in the spring during the snow melt.

Beautiful views. If you enjoy grasslands and hogbacks you’ll enjoy it. I usually like trails with some tree cover, so I went on a cool cloudy day and it was perfect! A few mountain bikers and hikers. Everyone was refreshingly friendly!

Nice trail that will take you up to 7000 ft

Great views of both Fort Collins and RMNP from the top.

This was the first time my 16 year old daughter and I have gone hiking, but my 18 year old son has been on several CO mountain trips. We managed just fine with trail running shoes, alternating walking and jogging, so I would guess that this is more easy-moderate than moderate-hard.Then again, we're all three long, long distance runners, so that could have helped a bit. We veered off and did some rock climbing, as well. Beautiful views, very quiet on a Monday afternoon, and overall a great introduction to hiking for us.

How have I not tried this trail before? Easy loop. Moderate to little traffic. Dog friendly. Quiet. Benches with views. I’ll definitely be taking this trail again with my pup!

This trail is really beautiful! It passes by the falls, as well as a number of stream sightings that feed the falls. The Spring Creek portion of this trail was closed yesterday(no specific reason listed), so we had to take the soderburg trail instead which also offered some amazing views and intersects with the Horsetooth rock trail. When we got up to the top of the rock there was an intense fog rolling in and out around us. . .kind of gave the illusion that the mountains we're breathing. 3 1/2 hours start to finish with some time spent on top. Well worth the $6 entry fee!

I started late - 4pm on 4/07/18. A few people on the way to the falls but not a single soul after. Great weather; low 40's to start high 30's at finish. Trail was in great shape and this hike was far more rewarding than I expected.
After the falls, I started up Springcreek only to be turned around about a 1/4 mile up at the Soderberg connection: springcreek closed til the wathan connection. That turned out to be a blessing as I backtracked and took Stout (going from memory here) to Herrington back to wathan over to Horsetooth Rock. loved all the scenery esp. wathan and Horsetooth Rock. finished after 8 using a headlamp for a bit. def. coming back for some more.
