Hiked the loop clockwise today and it was great! The trail itself was pretty easy. The last part of the trail after you pass over the creek gets a little harder from climbing but still easy. Everything is budding and so green so it’s extra beautiful! We found a path to scramble up the waterfall on the right side. Actually passed quite a few people doing the same. The waterfall is extra amazing when you climb up higher. But it’s not for the faint of heart. There are def a good amount of bugs so bug spray would’ve been nice. Only one area of the trail was muddy and that was in the large field on the far side of the lake. There are plenty of signs of beavers and you can see the epic beaver dam built across the top of the lake. 10/10 would recommend!

Absolutely wonderful trail! It took us about 40 minutes to do the full hike. The caves were really cool and nice to go into. We had lunch at one of the picnic tables looking at the falls. Cost $9 to get into the park! Definitely recommend for a quick stop. It wasn’t very crowded

Trail is dry and all to ourselves on a Friday afternoon. We saw others, but along the loop. Good family hike for those with youngsters.

Great short hike with the kids.

Gorgeous trail but super slick! Slid quite a few times but the views were worth it. Got lost in the middle and decided to turn back.

Very gorgeous views BUT it is a tourist spot full of people! For my liking I like to get away into the forest away from big crowds... if it weren’t for all the people I’d love this place.

Hiked this back in august and it was fantastic. Probably my favorite hike in all RMNP.

Great trail! Very clearly marked and easy to follow the diamonds. We went counter clockwise which I believe is the better choice, some steep inclines at the end. Took us just over 2 hours at a leisurely pace. Went on a Friday morning and did not see a lot of people. Great views for pics!

Did this hike on 3/21/20 and it was packed down until the junction off to jasper. It was just me on the trail until near the end when I ran into a pair of hikers. I used snowshoes and was fortunate that two guys had skinned up to do some back country skiing the evening before. Found them camped out near the top but they hadn’t finished the path to the lake. I was exhausted by the time I reached them, so I didn’t make it the extra half mile to the lake (even with all of the elevation complete it was exhausting to make my own trail!). However, was one of the most peaceful and breathtaking hikes I’ve done in a looong while. I would highly recommend during the winter. Just know that it’s a lot of work and cross your fingers that someone has already laid down tracks for you.

There was quite a bit of snow on the trail we could not go through much of the trail but we still were able to go exploring. Also most of the public Access areas and roads were blocked by Gates. But I knew a secret entrance

Really nice trail well kept and easy to follow! Creek and waterfall at the end was nice! Lots of trees and dog friendly! Would recommend!

Could not get to trail due to too much snow. this was as of yesterday, May 21st. had to turn around, about 1 mile away. tricky to turn around as road leading to trail was rough, narrow and no guard rails with steep drops. Beware!

This road is not the best hike we have in Colorado but the ease of it is a great quick bike ride or a place to enjoy the river and big horn sheep. The shutdown of places where people go for exercise is ridiculous.

Parking is still closed. Parked at the Elementary School close by. This is such a beautiful hike, lots of animals- we saw a ton of birds, beavers in the water playing, deer, and so many chipmunks. The trail was in great condition- go early to beat the crowds.
