Pretty steep in the beginning but do-able. Short trail with a pretty waterfall at the end. Nice and relaxing. If you go early, you will hardly see any people

Did this trail last year when I was 6 months pregnant. It was a little steep at parts, but totally worth it. You get a huge variety of scenery, it is absolutely beautiful. there’s a stream that runs alongside majority of it, my dog really enjoyed it. Hidden gem.

This is an amazing trail! Well marked, not too busy, and billion dollar views all around. Worth every step! The weather can change quickly. Started off sunny and warm, and ended with snow falling and winds whipping at the end on 5/20.

Super hard for the first part of less than a quarter of a mile as it is very steep, but after that it's an easy and beautiful hike. Well worth the first 5 minutes of suffering. The tail takes you through such varied terrain, you start out in a much forest with the most beautiful stream you have ever seen, then on to grassland and wildflowers, walking past impressive rock formations, and finally at the top is just amazing view after amazing view. The trees up there are very cool too as the wind has shaped them in such interesting ways.

Great hike, had a lot of fun on this trail. There are parts that are well marked, but once you get to the back end of Werley Ranch, it's easy to follow abandoned trails, which I didn't mind. Took the trail the goes by the ponds first. Last couple of miles in this direction it is an incline the majority of the way. Will hike again going in the opposite direction.

Hidden gem - beautiful trail along the creek with fantastic views at the end. Loved the variety of the trail.

Amazing view once you get to the top!

Great trail along the creek with sweeping views at the end. Beautiful rock formations. There was no camping when we were there - check to make sure the campground is open or sleep in your car at the Trailhead.

Nice hike, well worn smooth trail with not to much elevation change in it. For those you are not used to those longer trails, be prepared for this trail. It takes time to finish it. Ran into fresh lion and bear tracks on the back side of this trail.

Very steep and difficult right off the bat.Trail was very muddy in some parts and still quite a bit of snow. The view from the top is amazing! Unfortunately, no actual falls as they were buried under snow. We could hear the rushing water, but never actually saw any. A wonderful woman directed us over to an amazing lookout after a steep but short rock ascent-made the whole hike worth it and I so appreciate her.

I love this Trail gone on it many times. I only wish people would keep their dogs on the leash and pick up after them as there is dog poop all over the trail. love to take my dogs on the Trail but never have them off leash. met some people on the hike who had their dog off-leash they didn't even notice that their dog had turned around and went the other way until I said something. then the lady got mad because I said she needs to keep her dog on the leash. otherwise beautiful Trail.in the winter it's covered in ice and the views are well worth the hike up. nice place to have a picnic

Very pretty hike. Evelyn Rodriguez you can have your dogs off leash.

We were able to drive a Prius to this trailhead despite the bumpy dirt road. The trail itself was mostly small gravel with only real incline once veering off the ring the peak trail toward raspberry mountain. It was quite windy at the top with impressive 360 views of both pike’s and the divide. There was evidence of lots of wildlife, though we only saw a fox—keep your eyes open.

Be careful on the descent; it’s easy to miss the last fork back to the parking lot and to head back to the private camp area. Sparing a few patches of mud, the trail was dry.

An enjoyable hike that was easy to find. Great views of the Peak. Not overly difficult but still some good uphills along the way. More trails in area including Ring the Peak trails.

I really enjoyed walking with my husband.

Beautiful hike, but the trail is not clearly marked. At the halfway point, there wasn’t a clear trail and we ended up going through a gate and up a steep hill. This was not part of the trail, and so we ended up going back the way we came. My suggestion - take your phone and have the map pulled up. Check the map every half mile or so.

Nice trail with lots of birds!! Turned back before the loop, so may try the whole thing next time. Lots of dogs without leashes, some jumped up on us and got us pretty muddy.

Hiked on April 14th, 2018. I'd recommend spikes, but you can get away without them. Definitely don't need snowshoes. Trail is pretty well marked, but make sure to keep an eye out for cairns above treeline.

Very nice peaceful hike...except beware of two black guard dogs at about the half way point by a new build...pretty aggressive dogs...gotta admit I was afraid they were gonna attack us. But beautiful easy hike:)

Fun, easy, great views. Pretty simple hike but worth it.

HIKED ON APRIL 1, 2018

START: 6:30AM
END: 2:30PM

This was my first 14er. Would not recommend as first 14er for most people unless you hike a lot in difficult conditions. The 13 miles RT and 4300ft elevation gain is not easy without proper training and hiking experience.

YOU DO NOT NEED 4WD TO GET TO TRAILHEAD!! ROAD IS PERFECTLY CLEAR FOR ALL TYPES OF CARS

Hike to summit took 4 hours. 2 hours up to tree line, 2 hours above tree line. Lots of elevation gain on first half of hike. Make sure to look for and follow Cairns, some are hard to see but trail is marked the whole way. Some scrambling the final bit up to summit but not difficult.

Spent maybe an hour at summit. Ate lunch and took some pictures before heading down.

Hike back to trailhead took about 3 hours.

Other than strong wind and some icy spots in the trees this was a pretty chill hike. Not too difficult for an intermediate hiker.

2 hour drive from Denver to Trailhead

beautiful but got lost turned from 5.8 hike to 11.48 miles but was fun

Need 4wheel drive to get to trailhead. Rough terrain on the road. Trail is easy to follow until you get above the tree line. With it being slightly snow covered we lost it up the first ascent which led to a slow climb to the basin. High winds in the basin section until you get to Devil’s playground. Didn’t need traction devices on way up but used yaktrax on the way down to avoid slipping on some ice patches. Long hike but great views of the continental divide & the crags!

Out and back trail, some steep parts, great short hike!
Keep your eyes peeled for Big Cats but didn’t encounter any signs.

Drive to the trailhead was easy. Ice on a few areas of the trail. Used spikes; no problem! Beautiful hike this morning!

my favorite morning hike

Started at 6 am...was a little disappointed that after hiking all day....the summit house only had t-shirts that said I Hiked from the car....way too commercialized....and too many people. Prefer less crowded 14ers....

Hiked 3/2/18. As previously reported the road to trailhead is snow covered. I made it fine with AWD and you could make it with 2wd BUT if someone else is coming the other direction then you might get stuck trying to move over for them. Fantastic hike overall. Trail was snow covered but spikes were not needed

Beautiful short hike....falls are the perfect place for a picnic..

First 14er! Started sometime around 5:30 AM. Had some difficulty following the trail in the dark (with head lamp) and missed the 646A sign. Had to use the All trails app to help. Once on the right trail, no problems until the last 1/4 mile scramble d/t missing some cairns. Fun hike. Felt like I did millions of squats. Definetly felt the burn in some areas. Beatiful scenery. Of course loads of people at the summit. It is what it is. Parking for this trail is a bit bumpy, go at a snails pace especially in the dark!
