We hiked partway up this trail on July 6. We got on this trail from Peru Creek, which is a gravel road. We hiked 2 miles up the road first- don't do that if you don't have to. We should've driven up and parked.
The trail is steep at first, but travels through some interesting landscapes of pine, boulders, and an aspen grove. We only made it to the first viewpoint, a big bowl looking out over the reservoir and valley. Very worth it, though. Next time I'd like to make it above treeline.
The only traffic we ran into was mountain bikers coming downhill from A-Basin. Some of the curves are pretty sharp, so keep an ear and an eye out for everyone's safety. Some footing was loose and dusty, so wear sturdy footwear.

Our family of 5 (parents and kids age 12,13, and 16) hiked this trail our first day in Dillon. We live on the east coast, at sea level, and this was a great hike for us as we acclimated to the altitude. Beautiful scenery and surprisingly great views/ scenic overlooks. I'm not in great shape, and stopped occasionally on the steeper parts of the trail for some water, but this trail was perfect for us!

I love this one!! I’ve done it twice. Both times, very lightly trafficked, peaceful, serene. Beautiful flowers and breathtaking views all the while and definitely rewarding toward the top. A consistently gradual incline, not too tough!

I was blown away by the views of this hike! There’s actually three ponds, if you go out a bit past the first one and the views from there are amazing! It’s super short and there’s not really any hills. Good for families with kids and for those not able to do much hiking but still want to see some crazy good views.

Breathtakingly beautiful and easy. We wanted a short little hike before dinner and boy did this location deliver. Gorgeous views 360 degrees. Make sure you hike out to the third pond!

Fantastic short hike for flatlanders staying at keystone and wanting to get away from the hustle of Summit County. Breathtaking views , clear water and wildlife.

Easy, yes, but very pretty. As someone else said, the perfect short hike.

Much better than hiking up or down a ski hill like most of the tourists do while in town.

on Lenawee Trail

My family hiked Lenawee again this week. Challenging trail but so worth the effort. Saw three other hikers while on the mountain.

Great short hike. But don’t stop at this lake go over the ridge a bit and see 2 more small ponds and some awesome Mountain View’s

great hike. lots of wild flowers. great views of the mountain ranges.

Amazing views and great stops for lunch!

Views were simply amazing! Makes for a great loop. Not congested. Very few truly technical spots.

We took the Rubicon here. What a beautiful place! I must admit there are some areas where lockers are needed so be prepared for that.

A nice trail with a 4x4. Not too difficult. Take the upper left to the top of Radical Hill. Usually a few goats up there. Then backtrack and take Saints John back to Montezuma or just go back via Deer Creek.

This trail was very easy. It’s for every age and everyone. The trails were bit hard to follow, but not where you would get lost. The scenery is breath taking. Water so clear you can see the bottom. I highly recommend this small trail.

Fun walk with our granddaughter! More houses and roads than we prefer but a nice trail

Hiked the trail this morning. The wildflowers are spectacular. The only thing that detracts from this hike is the view of I-70 and the Eisenhower Tunnel on the way back.

Good early morning hike! Took our 8 month old grandchild with us. Pretty views and meadow had lots of flowers in bloom!

Did this hike on an overcast July morning and loved it. Not too strenuous with nice views. Nothing incredibly special, but still a nice little hike.

great little hike. on our way up the pass, greeted by hard of big horn sheep. you can actually walk a look larger around the bigger lake too.

The trail where bikers are not permitted is quite nice. The water is crystal clear and the views of the mountains are breathtaking. The trail is very easy to access as well as easy to hike. Although jt’s a beautiful hike, I personally enjoy views that don’t include power lines and major roadways. For where it’s located, it’s a great hike and worth it.

Very nice walk. Lots of flowers and easy to get to. Worth the drive.

The directions are not accurate to the trailhead. Use the gps on the trail map to find the actual parking area. Great hike for dogs, there is water at least 60% of the time. Only downside is that you can hear I 70 2/3 of the way

Favorite local trail, hike it a couple times of week just to escape. Great views of the lake and mountains, very quiet for being close to town!

Easy hike but SO beautiful

Very easy hike with absolutely beautiful views. It’s pretty chilly and windy at this altitude, so definitely wear layers. The hike was easy enough for my 4yo daughter and I carried my 2yo on my back, if that’s any indication. We hiked July 1, 2018.
I rated five stars because the views payoff for minimal effort is unbeatable. Loved it.
