Explore the most popular mountain biking trails near Denver with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

Love these paths. They branch off at multiple spots so lots of areas to explore. You can get views of the creek, large trees & views of the mountains from these paths.

A lot people both running and biking, largely millennials/30-somethings, and has the feel of a big city trail that is used primarily for after work runs and bicycle commutes. Can be sketchy in parts if you linger. Pretty sure we saw a guy doing drugs behind a tree.

Road this trail as a novice. Beautiful trail with a variety of terrain to see, and a nice view of Denver waiting for you at the reservoir. Homeless people do tend to set up camp closer to the downtown Denver area. But, once you make your way further the trail is quiet. I went during the week so I can imagine it would get crowded on the weekend. Happy travels!

Easy trail- we didn’t it with little electric scooters from the convention center to the REI. Round trip takes less than 30 minutes on scooter, perhaps that distance would take 1-2 hours on foot.

The one really cool thing about this hike is at the beginning of the trail where there was a family of prairie dogs (basically groundhogs) with their mounds in a field. Otherwise the hike was meh.

One of my most frequented runs. Good flow of people

It’s a great trail, but very busy on the weekends and not a lot of shade in the beginning of the day

What an awesome trail. Great ride and beautiful change of scenery. Entered by Holiday Inn Denver-Cherry Creek rode to the lake, around and back. Approximately 24 miles. Nice, wide path and not much traffic around the lake on a Friday late morning.

Trailhead is right by the busy Pena blvd on the way to the airport. Have to walk about a half mile along the service road until you get to the real trailhead. The actual trail is pretty, not too much shade along the creek and then opens up with views of the mountains in the distance.

this trail does allow dogs.

Great views of the mountains and Denver :)

I really enjoyed this leisurely walk along the creek. People & Dog friendly. Ample shade! Great bird watching!

I take it to work from Washington Park. Really great way to bike into the city.

I have cycled this trail many times. it follows Hampden from Bear Creek Park all the way to Santa Fe. If you ride westbound toward Bear Creek Park past the golf course, there's a lot of uphill. Most of the trail is shaded by trees and there's a nice sitting area by the Mexican hat park. This is an all-around good trail to ride or walk.

Grew up on this green belt. Will always be a favorite.

Awesome

Great Trail.

With Boba- no shade but nice paved walkway for miles and miles - directions were unclear so park at a meter and bring water

My wife and I have biked this trail a few times and we love it. It really gives you a good and different perspective of Denver. The trail is fairly flat and there is a lot of tree coverage so it doesn't get too hot in the summer. There's also plenty of places to stop and get a bite to eat, drink or just take a rest. The only bad thing about this trail is that once you get close to downtown you start seeing a lot of homeless people near the trail and some are using drugs.

Nice that it is by a creek but most parts are by the freeway and behind homes and shopping centers. Some shady parts to chill.

Great views. Easy trail and clean. Love it!!

Great area to run. 8 miles around the park Starting at the East entrance. There are a lot of trails in the park and connecting to the park for the long runs. If you're going for a long run or a short run you can find it here. It is also very scenic and has wild life.

Great day, easy transition from farmland to mountains. Helped acclimate to higher elevation. Had two knee surgeries, trail was easy on knees. Loved the view.

3.5- Directions on All Trails does not lead to a parking lot or trailhead. Google Bear Creek Park instead. Paved walkway. Not a Loop. A LOT of bikers whizzing by which rarely ring bell or alert you. A few Benches but no trash cans unless you go a mile west to the playground. Homeless camping near creek. Not bad for a quick close one but I wouldn’t choose this again.

Pretty area right downtown for some nature time . One side is for pedestrians and other is for biking and roller blading . All paved . Pretty, clean creek and dog friendly ! Walk alongside the city skyline!

Great trail for commuting on bike. Also good for enjoyment through walking, running, and biking.

great place to have fun and camping

Great place for a relaxing bike ride

Easy quiet walk this morning! My dog loved walking along the creek. Paved paths and bridges so easy access from the road. Wished people cleaned up after their pets and themselves more but other than that I highly recommend for a morning walk
