Wanted to comment on Charlie Collar’s review below as I think it may be for a different trail (maybe Oak Flat) - the trail is not hard to find nor is it crazy (assuming that means difficult). Trail is well-blazed and a moderate, gradual climb to the summit. Lots of shade and great views of the canyon. Wanted to say something as Collar’s review had originally made me second guess whether or not to take this trail. Glad I decided to go! Totally amazing.

Loved this. Added on Exclamation Point! Wild flowers starting to bloom. True intermediate hike. Steep climb before the turn around.

Nice, varies hike with some outstanding viewpoints. Exclamation point made us exclaim! Wow! Wow! Wow! Nice gradual uphill to summit with nice views for the next 2 miles. Highly recommend!

Hiked 5/19/20. Probably some of the craziest two miles I've hiked. Very treacherous going down, but worth it. Be sure to start early and have a gps; we took almost 2 hours to get down and it is very easy to lose the trail. Going up is just as rough. Park rangers had a very nice walkthrough of what to expect and how to not lose the trail.

This is a great trail! My kids (youngest is 2.5) made it up the trail fairly easily and enjoyed the whole hike! Beautiful trail:)

My grandparents live 4 miles away.. so getting there was easy. It was definitely steep but my 59 year old uncle and I made it up and back down in less than an hour. I'd say it's easy for an experienced hiker. The views are amazing especially during sunset over the Missouri Flats! Would recommend this hike!

Great views. Short but sweet hike and confirmed trail as moderate.

Great short hike. It was 3.2 miles. When you approach the fork stay to the right (going down hill) for the overlook. Beautiful!

Trail signage indicates 3.5 miles one way to Green Mountain summit. Nice hike over varied terrain with great views.

Beautiful views. Not a vigorous hike—if we’re gonna call it moderate I’d say it’s on the easier end of the moderate spectrum. If you take the left at the fork near the end, it’s only a 5 minute walk to the end, so just turn around and go back to the right at the fork. It’s only about .2 miles to the end and very worth the views.

This was a great little trail, footing was very easy and well blazed with some amazing views of the canyon. The little roundabout at the top of the mountain seemed unnecessary, but going to the top was definitely worth the views. Left the trail head at 6:30am and didn't see any other people until I was about halfway back :)

I loved the trail. It is on the north, less crowded side of the canyon. So if you only have one day to explore, I’d suggest just sticking to the south side. This is a 1.5 hour drive from the south side and the only visitor’s center of the park. However, I did both sides and this hike had the absolute best views of the river. If that’s what you’re looking for, you will love this short little hike. That canyon rim drop is intimidating!

What a great views just the drive threw this unique NP!

great views of the canyon. easy to follow trail. not crowded at all. I think we saw 10 people at most.

The trail is quite the ways off the main highway. It is a relatively short hike, but there are a few sections that it is slightly difficult to gain footing. I recommend starting early in the morning, because the Western Slope of Colorado can reach triple digits quickly. I highly recommend this hike. Fantastic views.

Great hike with amazing views for the first mile or so of the hike. After you reach Exclamation Point, you are just gaining elevation with limited views of the canyon. However, once you get to the summit ,being able to see the surrounding ranges was worth it.

Views along the trail that invite you to snap pictures. Gusty winds and clouds kept it cool for me.

This trail is a loooot steeper than it’s made out to be. At one point we were on our hands and knees crawling up a nearly vertical incline. It was rewarding to reach the top but I’m glad it wasn’t any longer of a trail!

Exclamation Point was worth the whole hike. Stunning views of the Canyon. A little bit more traffic than expected (~10 people over an afternoon), but we had the trail to ourselves for most of the hike. The Green Mountain Summit portion was less worthwhile (the views weren't that much better), but the hike itself was through a nice landscape. Highly recommend Exclamation Point and would only recommend going to the summit for those who love hiking in-of-itself. Be warned: there is a $20 entrance fee to be paid at the Ranger Station.
