This is a great getaway from Denver, this loop is nice and one should connect to the waterfall trailhead. Bikers were more in numbers than hikers.

We love it's close convenience to Denver. It's beautiful year round.

We started at Songbird, which is a small trail along the road, and then crossed the highway to hike Hummingbird. It’s a steady incline switchback for about 1.5 miles to the top. Honestly, the views along the way up might be better than the view at the very top. Coming down Hummingbird is a steady decent the remaining .4 miles back down to the road and trailhead. There is no shade during the hike and well maintained covered restrooms back at the trailhead.

Trail was scenic, but with the elevation gain was pretty steep at times for my young kids. We made it around the whole loop pretty quickly though even with the steep grade. In all a nice hike that was closer for us since we live on the south side of Denver.

Did this trail with our 6 year old and (hardy) 2.5 year old. The first few tenths of a mile is a great leg/butt workout, followed by lovely views and a more gentle slope down. Our big kid did the whole thing without complaining. Little sis hiked most of it on her own with some breaks on dad’s shoulders. Lots of butterflies!

This was a good hike for my friends from out of town.

Perfect for a quick 4 miles or so. Beautiful

Nice hike if you’re on a short time frame. It’s also kid friendly.

Great easy trail. Will come back with grandkids.

Oxen Draw has a decomposing horse just off the path. (Makes you wonder what happened!) There were signs alerting trail users of potentially increased wildlife. Mostly just the smell and flies’ abundance were noticeable.
Oxen draw was narrow, shady, rocky, and noticeably sloped. Ravens Roost was wide, more like an off-road trail for vehicles. The views were worth the climb though.
Trail is well marked, but on a Sunday afternoon, lightly trafficked. (No complaints from me!)
A few other dogs out there as well.

View is beautiful at the top. A lot of uphill. Very clean. Our 3 year old tackled this hike.

Went last weekend. Easy trail - no drastic uphill climbs. Views and scenery were wonderful. Not too crowded either!

was disappointed with the scenery. easy hike for kids and has geocaching in the area. but I wouldn't plan a hiking trip to see this. if youre already in the park, then sure go check it out. mainly used for fishing and theres man made cement and chain link fence structures separating the "ponds." looks like retention ponds. I gave it 3 stars for the geocaching. theres a really neat cache in the area. other than that I'd give it 1 star.

I actually bumped into this place. Decided to hike here instead of going up further because it was Memorial Day weekend. Enjoyed the beautiful trails, trees and the area! Great place to bring the family and have a bbq. Even tho you have to share the trails with mountain bikers, still a nice hike.

This hike was really pretty. We went when it was a bit foggy so it added some extra beauty to the hike. There’s some small inclines but we were able to take our jogging stroller the whole way. There were a handful of people we passed and a lot of dogs. It was pretty easy and beautiful

Loved the hike went on Mother’s Day. Very light traffic and easy to navigate would definitely do it again.

Extremely well kept trail and easy year round. Can be completed in easily in around 20 minutes and definitely great for children. Colorado Parks and Wildlife offer these tank like wheelchairs for anyone with disabilities and the elderly. I tend to fish the ponds when I get the chance, there are stocked rainbow trout usually around 10-12 inches in size as well as some brook trout but those don’t get very big. The ponds are great for ice fishing in January and February but definitely make sure you carry a fishing license year round if you do decide to give the ponds a shot as they frequently check for licenses. Definitely a good place to try if you have kids, I personally use rooster tails but I know for a fact that they absolutely love power bait and will usually hit it ever cast. I have never had a bad experience and am constantly recommending it to my friends and anyone who’s looking for a place to take their kids fishing.

Not a ton of people on the trail even during the middle of the day on a Sunday. Well maintained trail and good for trail running.

Good trail to get your hiking legs in shape early season did it early April still had snow / ice in patches trail is in good shape through ski hill loop.

Nice hike you can adjust the length of depending what you want to do. Definitely has slush and mud but no ice. Trees provided great cover from the wind.

My favorite place to go walking and trail running.

A simple strait forward walk in the wood.

Trees and snow make it super pretty. Easy quick hike close to town.

Very muddy after the snow. But happy for the great weather!!!

easy and relaxed

Nice easy hike, some patches of snow and ice on the trail.

Great hike! Just be aware that there are some icy spots right now especially one area at about the mid point of Ravens Roost. The kids enjoyed sliding down it.

Really nice trail. We parked on the east end and began the trail across the road hiking up hummingbird trail. This leads you into an immediate incline for about a mile up to the top of the trail. I liked this direction because it allowed for great views mid way and a nice decent down into songbird trail. This is a nice way to end the trail with ease and light meandering through the flat meadow along a small stream. Here there are picnic tables and lots of shade. Clean, maintained trails and park. Little to no traffic for a Fall Saturday.

Great snow hike...
In the mountains, but not too deep and not too High. Perfect for a winter hike in the snow. Dog Loved It.!!

Awesome hike! Have had a hard time finding easy trails that are great for kids/older parents AND interesting for me.
