The day was hot. We probably should have started sooner and avoided the heat, but overall this was a nice hike. To be fair, I should probably go again on a cooler day to better rate it. Good sized parking lot and vault toilets at trailhead. Some shady spots, water crossings, lots of wild raspberries.

We are beginner bikers and this was a good trail ride for our first time here. We came late afternoon on a Sunday and there were just a handful of people walking the trail and only a few other bikers. Good number of up slopes to work ya out and downslopes for fun. Beautiful scenery and wildlife! Will definitely be back!

Went on a Thursday morning and the parking lot was empty. The west side (Oxen draw) was a beautiful, shady trail. Narrow at some points, and some getting over rocks that my 4 year old had no problem with. Raven's Roost was a much wider, sunnier path with excellent views. It got very steep at some points. The park definitely felt like a place with a high probability of seeing wildlife, and saw signs of bears. Didn't see the dead horse although the warning sign for it was still up.

Easy, wide trail. I only gave it three stars because there aren't views of anything on the trail, and it was super busy. It is a nice easy trail through some woods and across a small marsh. I encountered multiple groups of camp kids and counselors on bikes-at least 4 different groups of 8-12 kids. Lots of other hikers too. Way to busy for me. I was there from 11 am-12 pm, so maybe it was just bad timing.

The directions from All Trails brought me to the secondary parking area that has only a few spots. Know that there is a main parking area a little further north on Hwy 73 with lots of spots.

Nice simple trail. Good escape for cooler temperatures than Denver, but can be pretty warm too. Lots of trees trail and great for dogs.

Loved the hike. Easy enough for most people. Some sunny spots but a lot of in/out of trees. Pretty scenery towards the end and before the falls. Lots of mountain bikers hit this trail because of its so maintained by Parks services.

This is a great getaway from Denver, this loop is nice and one should connect to the waterfall trailhead. Bikers were more in numbers than hikers.

This was a good hike for my friends from out of town.

Perfect for a quick 4 miles or so. Beautiful

Unbelievabley crowded. Like shoulder to shoulder. Didn't even bother to try to hike as cars were parked everywhere and unconscious people not respecting personal space abound. Not a very peaceful hike more like epcot.

Oxen Draw has a decomposing horse just off the path. (Makes you wonder what happened!) There were signs alerting trail users of potentially increased wildlife. Mostly just the smell and flies’ abundance were noticeable.
Oxen draw was narrow, shady, rocky, and noticeably sloped. Ravens Roost was wide, more like an off-road trail for vehicles. The views were worth the climb though.
Trail is well marked, but on a Sunday afternoon, lightly trafficked. (No complaints from me!)
A few other dogs out there as well.

View is beautiful at the top. A lot of uphill. Very clean. Our 3 year old tackled this hike.

Big rewards for a moderate hike up! The best views I’ve ever seen next to the Rocky’s! You feel on top of the world!

Went last weekend. Easy trail - no drastic uphill climbs. Views and scenery were wonderful. Not too crowded either!

I actually bumped into this place. Decided to hike here instead of going up further because it was Memorial Day weekend. Enjoyed the beautiful trails, trees and the area! Great place to bring the family and have a bbq. Even tho you have to share the trails with mountain bikers, still a nice hike.

Loved the hike went on Mother’s Day. Very light traffic and easy to navigate would definitely do it again.

Nice trail. No breathtaking vistas but complete solitude and quiet. Hiked yesterday, a Saturday, and saw one person. Hiked 4.5 miles in and came back. Good steady incline. Lots of rocks so wear good shoes and bring trekking poles.

Great hike! I went early on a Monday morning, I didn’t see anyone until about three hours into the hike. Gradual incline to the beginning of the Mount Evans Wilderness Area, about five miles in. Some beautiful views in the more exposed areas, lots of tall trees and shade during most of the hike. Some rocky areas with some snow as of 4/30.

Trail conditions: mostly dry and muddy in spots. The aspens are still bare but spring is in the air and they should be glittering in no time.

Quiet and secluded trail for a Sunday. Hiked a total of 4 miles and was on the trail for about 2 hours. Saw maybe 3 people. Not sure I would rate as moderate. Mostly easy and moderate in spots.

Not a ton of people on the trail even during the middle of the day on a Sunday. Well maintained trail and good for trail running.

My favorite place to go walking and trail running.

We did this hike today and it was great! Some incline, very beautiful area. We went up about 3 miles and came back. Was perfect! Nothing out there but Mother Nature

A simple strait forward walk in the wood.

Trees and snow make it super pretty. Easy quick hike close to town.

Very muddy after the snow. But happy for the great weather!!!

easy and relaxed

Nice easy hike, some patches of snow and ice on the trail.

Great hike! Just be aware that there are some icy spots right now especially one area at about the mid point of Ravens Roost. The kids enjoyed sliding down it.

Awesome hike! Have had a hard time finding easy trails that are great for kids/older parents AND interesting for me.
