Absolutely beautiful! A great trail to hike if you want to escape the paved paths and get great views of outside the park area.

Very easy trail, leading up to beautiful views. Ample parking at trail head.

Very fun trail not to terribly hard the incline does get a little steep and you have to kind of find your way to the top of kineo as the trail starts to disappear towards the top but beautiful view of Colorado Springs and the surrounding mountains.

A great cool down trail after long hikes. Shady trail that is very easy walking. Plenty of wildlife along the creek. This is a short trail perfect for walking with young children and pets. Take your time and enjoy nature and the creek. Some nice rock formations along the trail as well. Trail starts behind the visitors center and ends at a parking lot up the canyon. This parking lot is where Middle Columbine Trail begins.

Absolutely amazing trail

It was a gorgeous day there were some people but not too much I was able to get off on a trail and be the only one on it. Beautiful picturesque clouds and shadows all over, perfect day for photography.

It's a flat, wide path. Well maintained. Great for running, walking pets, and biking!

We hiked 5 miles today and it was so nice to have maintained trails. Beautiful rock formations made it all worth it

I’m sure I am like many others, on the way up I found myself scrambling over scree fields and boulders. I found the trail on the way down and it was significantly easier than the scrambling. The trail is steep, and washed out in places with the occasional loose rock. The key to this hike is after you turn off the Hummingbird Trail and onto the Blodgett Peak Trail you will encounter quite a few forks in the trail. ALWAYS go left. Once you top out on the first saddle the trail becomes really well defined. It travels left and looks like it goes downhill, but this is the correct trail. If you miss this point, you will end up scrambling up boulder fields like we did (and everyone else...it seems). Believe me, the trail is way easier than the scrambling route. The trail will take you up a draw to a second saddle. After you top out of the second saddle Blodgett Peak is just above you and to your right. The trail is easy to follow with one really short scramble to the summit. The top has spectacular 360 degree view of the Springs, the Air Force Academy and Rampart Reservoir. The only bummer was the swarm of gnats that met us at the summit. That made it a little hard to enjoy the view, and cut our time on the top short. The trail is definitely steep for most of 3 miles. I highly recommend trekking poles, lots of water and some food.

I’m new to hiking and this being my second hike I really enjoyed it. Throughout there was educational signs and benches which was nice. I will say however there are a few things to look out for! 1- when you get to this trail head (which can be kind of confusing to get to because the maps and signs aren’t super clear) go to the right side of the loop!!!! We took the left side and it was definitely more incline than if we would have taken the right side. I would say that taking the left is difficult while taking the right would have been moderate. 2. Beware of wasps/yellow jackets. We walked by a whole nest in a hallowed trunk and on a previous hike in the same park my friend was stung multiple times. 3. Has some really pretty views of the mountain however much of the scenery is the same.. this didn’t really bother me however due to the fact that the path kept things interesting with roots/rocks/inclines etc.

It was a nice trail with shady areas. I was unable to make it to the summit as there was some very steep rocks to get over towards the end and I made the decision to turn around. There are some nice look out points throughout the trail. Most of the trail is on gravel so that made it a bit difficult to get back down.

The beginning is tough. Steep switchbacks and you incline up the mountain. But once you peak, it’s a gradual decline. Full of beautiful views and lots of trees to provide shade.

Very nice trail. Just when think you’ve lost your place there’s a cairn. It starts out on gold camp pretty flat, then remains that way pretty much until the switchbacks . These are tough but not impossible. After you’ve gone through the man made fence you need to turn right and then left onto the last leg of the hike. This is by far the steepest and most challenging part. The trail is pretty easy to follow the whole way through . After this 1.5 mile climb, you’ll reach a meadow/ open area with incredible views of Almagre and Pikes . One more stretch to the top about 1 mile or so and you’re there . Amazing views of the city, a reservoir , and surrounding mountains. Round trip with a 45 min break at the top was 6 hours , left at 9:30 am and got back 3:30.

Left side is more incline and harder, go right and you'll have more decline. Lots of rocks on the trail that are fun to run. Pretty good

Great hike close to home. Now that summer is over, it wasn't very busy at all. Very easy trail to run down after enjoying the views at the summit. Will be even more beautiful when the Autumn colors kick in!! This will be my go-to when I need a short outdoor workout!

The beginning of the hike isn't too bad. Then at the actual trail up it becomes steep. It's worth the steep climb though. The actual climb up is available to dirt bikers. We had to move over for about twelve dirt bikes which was challenging because of the narrow trail and drop off edge.

Beautiful hike this morning. Lots of dogs, so no critters but plenty of birds.

A great hike to the summit. beautiful 360 views. Easy hike to the saddle up High Drive. Trail was not marked, turn right and follow up. The last 100 plus yards before summit are washed out pretty bad. It also gets steep but it's doable. Make sure to bring hiking poles for the decent. Remember that you are exposed in High Drive and the summit. probably not the best choice for a midday hike. Take time to enjoy the views.

One of the best places so far to hiking!

on Blodgett Peak

Loved having the sound of the rushing river the entire walk. The first .7 miles to the trail marker is fully exposed to sun, but once you get to 622 it’s a nice single track with full tree coverage. The last part of the hike is steeper than the rest, but worth the effort for the nice waterfall and place to hang out before heading back. We showed up at 11 and got lucky, three people were leaving at same time so we got a parking spot. It took us about 1.5 hours up and back and we loll i gagged, took pictures and hung at the end for a while. Easy hike and nice way to spend a couple hours.

Awesome hike. Beautiful summit views.
