I love this trail. It's great exercise and it's beautiful! It's hard, don't believe moderate!!! But so worth it!

This hike had everything! Challenging parts, easy parts, a high view of the mountains and the city, and even a creek with a small waterfall. Completed the hike in 2 hours however I did run down the mountain since it was very easy decline. I’m exhausted but feel very accomplished.

I have to agree it’s unfortunate that Stephen had a rough go of it. This is one the best trails in red rocks. Yes the first mile or so can be hot but after that you are in beautiful woods that are shaded and yes it is steep. The run down the back side is a perfect elevation gain up or down. Yes you do hit a dirt road at the end for about a mile but it’s still a beautiful road and well worth it.

My mom and I hiked this loop today in about 2 hours and 40 minutes comfortably with some stops and for pictures and water along the way. It was a great walk with wonderful views every step of the way!

Beautiful views. Brought my 6 and 8 year olds and they did great. There are 4 or 5 narrow spots with steep drop offs, but as long as your kids listen and follow directions they will be fine. But, if you have kids that tend to run ahead or don’t listen well, then you might want to skip this one. Mostly uncovered sunny trail but areas of shade to find a spot to take a break if needed.

Very cool cabin!

This is a terrific trail system with many offshoots. Make sure to take any of them, you really can't get lost and it makes the run, hike or bike almost limitless. Worth the trip!

Great trail. Easy. Pretty. Early morning start time avoids the crowds.

Easy hike, go early it gets crowded

My kids loved this hike - beautiful and shaded... there were lots of people at the parking lot, but never felt crowded except at the 7th bridge. My daughter Remy says - make your family do a different dance across each bridge for extra fun!

Always a fun hike, kid friendly. Less foot traffic and better parking in the weekdays.

I stand by my review written for folks not familiar with the area. Specifically #3: "Nothing along the route will tell you where to go or how far you've gone. The trails are labeled with numbers not names which if are not familiar with the area are not terribly helpful." Note the trail map attached to this page also does not use #s. If I got lost so easily, others out of towners may as well. Compare to the Columbine trail I hiked the following day which is well marked, easy to follow and much more interesting.

Really nice trail once you get to it at marker 622. Would be really nice if there were trail markers with the actual names of the trails. Also it is a pet on leash trail which not many folks observe. Plenty of places to take a break along the trail. Places where the trail has rocks to get over but not to difficult.

Decent hike with good views of interesting rocks. The trail is hard to follow in some spots and many other trails cross this one. Having this app to keep us on track was very helpful. This trail is in the middle of Colorado Springs, and traffic noise detracted from our enjoyment along the northeastern portion of the trail.

Good trail with great views from all directions of the Garden’s rock formations. There are lots of other trails that cross this one, so having this app was very helpful in keeping us on track.

The driving up the mountain is beautiful. The trails are great. Most are not marked well but I don’t think you can go wrong on any trail. The trail by the stream is awesome. Best hiking trails I’ve been on!

For everyone looking at Stephen Fisher's review, He did not actually do the Palmer Loop. He got lost and went up High Drive, which is a dirt road. If he had paid attention to the signs, maybe done a little research he would have enjoyed his experience and actually hiked the Palmer Loop. Its unfortunate when people get lost and can't write a proper review, but look at all the others under his and you'll see that is a great 5+ mile hike/walk. Great scenery throughout the ascent and at the top.

Very nice. Pretty populated while I was there, unfortunately.

Trails were pretty washed out. Ended up losing the trail many times. Despite that it was a beautiful hike.

Beautiful trail with great views. The trail does run along private property lines and signs are posted throughout to stay on the trail. Great trail for mountain biking and hiking or those who don’t want to walk far to see gorgeous views.

Other reviewers have mentioned trash; I didn’t notice a problem. I love any hike that has you clambering over rocks!

Nice that it’s so accessible, frustrating that trails are hard to follow - partly due to very poor signage and partly due to inherent difficulty with trails that pass over rocky outcropping. Tried this loop 5 times and actually stayed on the intended path twice.

Quick, easy hike with stunning views!

Loved it! It was nice and serene. It wasn’t too busy at 8:30 am but coming down I noticed it started to get a bit more populated. Once back to my car the lot was full (both top and lower). I had a good hike and will come back again.

I took my 7 and 10yr old on this trail. It was a nice shaded trail, the girls enjoyed playing in the water along the way. Lots of traffic

Fabulous little hike! The stream that flows along the trail was beautiful! Loved the shade and clean, well maintained trails!

Not crowded at all. Awesome views and an easy hike

Love this hike. A little challenging for a recent transplant from Tennessee, but more than manageable and totally worth it for the views from the top. Definitely recommend doing the Cutler in the same visit - maximum bang for your buck. Parking fills up on the weekends so get there early! We will definitely be back.

Awesome trail for a recent Colorado transplant from Tennessee. Not super difficult but the payoff in mountaintop views, y’all - Just do it. We also did the Muscoco trail in the same trip, and totally recommend this method as they are both super rewarding and super manageable. Got there just before 9:00 am on a Saturday and parking was already getting pretty hard to find, so keep that in mind. Well maintained trails. Gorgeous views. And only 15 minutes from the city. We will be back!
