I actually enjoy it here. the homeless population is decreased substantially of late. You can paddle board and kayak with great mountain views and views of Garden of the Gods. Not a hike, definitely a path but great for running. The park also has a Velodrome created by the Olympic Center but open to the public with a pass, an indoor YMCA pool on the property (pass needed), a free big skate park, volleyball courts, tennis and racquetball courts , "pro" horseshoe courts, baseball, football, and soccer fields, and an indoor ice skating rink (day pass needed). There are memorials near the lake and a clock tower that chimes on the hour. The park is huge and overall very nicely maintained. The area is transitioning slowly and I believe this park will be a center of the community.

I walk this trail daily. Nice views and the sound of the creek is relaxing.

Trail running and/or biking.

I have no idea how this was rated moderate. It is a walking path through the neighborhoods. While that is great to have, it never even mildly approaches moderate. If you do walk on this, make it early in the morning or early evening, as there is very little shade.

Trail is finished from Cottonwood Park past I-25.

This was my constant during my half marathon training because we lived around the corner from it!

Excellent trail. It’s the nicest from the section behind the college and going northbound. Beautiful trail!

beautiful lake, but alot of homeless.

It's a nice walk around the lake. It can be a slow or fast pace. There's excercises that's available to do if you'd like to enhance your workout. Two playground areas for children and if you feel like fishing after you're done go on ahead and relax.

It’s easy. Kinda fun but small. Not for hard real mountain biking

It indeed leads to an apartment complex. You have to walk around a fence into a maze of homeless camps. Scenic, but wouldn’t recommend.

I parked on the north end and started the trail there. This trail is definitely NOT "Moderate". This trail was VERY easy. It's pretty darn flat, changes between pavement and well groomed gravel, and very wide. I gave it 2 stars because it is still a nice long trail, well taken care of, easy to access with abundant parking (at least at the North by the FD), and has pretty scenery following the creek.

Nice family park. Some undesirables and homeless. CSPD is trying to do their best I suppose.

Awesome for a nice walk with the dog or a stroller or whatever. Almost entirely flat.

Great views of the front range just be careful of the bird droppings while looking at them.. I don't consider this a hiking trail though. This is a nice place for a stroll, run or walk with your dog. Paved sidewalks, work out stops, and nice park areas.

Nice sidewalk around a small lake with lots of birds. Nice playground area & swings. Great for pokemon go.

Its somewhat scenic but there are lots of homeless campers along the trail.

A nice, easy paved city trail. Wheelchair friendly, at least around the main park area. There is also a wooded disc golf area.

I expected to go to a hiking trail next to sand creek but it turned out it's just a giant sidewalk that kind of follows the creek. I wouldn't go back unless my GPS led me down the trail to get to another destination.

Poorly marked trail. Not much to see. It's a nice park for kids with a playground though.

Super easy, lovely trail for a leisurely walk out of doors. Trail circles around Cottonwood Creek Park, which is a great park for all ages. Mostly paved, part of the loop is gravel. Popular for running, cycling, walking, dogs, kids, stroller-friendly.

A very good trail for a north/south route to cycle through the city safely while avoiding traffic. Pretty well maintained, though the further south you go, the more numerous the homeless camps become. For the most part, a side from their trash, I've never had any issues with any of the transient population. A big improvement would be if there were a connecting trail from the Greenway Trail to the Centennial Campus of PPCC. The only ways there now involve dangerous traffic on roads with minimal shoulder space.

As mentioned earlier, not a great area. Also, not really a hiking trail, just a paved loop around the lake, which does offer some nice views.

Widened private path tucked behind Stetson Hills neighborhood easily accessible in town. Stroller friendly. Somewhat sketchy under bridges and minimal shade; bring hat and lots of water. Happy hiking!
