This was an awesome trail, drove in from Lakewood. The trailhead starts at the end of a neighborhood, you can just park on the street. I got there at about 10:30 in the morning. Not too busy during the weekdays. People were respectful and covered with masks when I passed. The trail is pretty narrow so most of the time I had to step off the trail to let people pass. This is a decently shady trail, when I started getting hotter there was usually always a shady place to rest. It gets steep pretty quickly, good work out. For some this can be a difficult hike, it’s quite an elevation change in such a short amount of time. Bring plenty of water to get you through. I would suggest going earlier than I did when it is cooler outside. But the views from the top were awesome! Well worth the effort to get to the top. Be careful on your way down, the path splits a couple times, and I accidentally went the wrong direction, but it wasn’t too bad, maybe like an extra half mile to my trip after I realized. I actually got a really cool picture from it. Rad area 10/10 recommend spending a day there.

Hikes this on Friday 5/29 midday. Great trail. Doable yet good incline at some points for a good workout. Great view at the top of Mt Sanitas and plenty of areas around with big rocks to have lunch or take a break. Trail is packed in dirt, no snow and good for hiking or trail running!

Hiked this 5/30. Arrived at the parking lot at 7am and all spots in the lot were taken. Definitely not a lightly trafficked trail. Hike itself was beautiful and the views at the peaks are amazing. Be careful with making the connection over Bear Peak to get down, I missed the turn and went a much longer way around.

A nice uphill workout, stairs in some parts, nice views halfway, some shade on and off. Parking is scarce. Went during off hours which was easier to park. Very dog friendly.

Lovely at this hour, and very quiet. I love this way up to Sanitas.

Pretty views. Shade in the middle but not at the end. Went on Sunday at around noon and wasn’t overly crowded.

Nice views of boulder. Feels refreshing on the top. You can see high rises of Denver as well. Started around 2.30 pm not a lot of people going up but saw a bunch of people while climbing down.Keep a lookout for snakes as we saw 2 snake on the descend.

The weather was perfect today, and they were very few people on the trail. It was lovely. This is one of my favorites again and again and again!

This trail was awesome! It was a great sunrise hike and absolutely gorgeous. The trail is pretty rocky on the ascent and descent, but with good trail running shoes or hiking shoes, you shouldn’t have a problem.

Forgot how gorgeous this hike is. Was fairly crowded but not nearly as bad as I expected

Holy leg workout. It’s pretty much uphill the entire way. It’s also pretty technical (lots of rocks, steps, and scrambles). That said, the views at the top make it totally worth it AND you’re rewarded with downhill the entire way back :)

It’s pretty difficult. It gets a little tricky cause it’s not marked the best when you get down by the river the 2nd time. It’s hard because you start going downhill and lose a ton in elevation then have to gain it all at the end. It’s pretty but does drag towards the end! Beautiful views though and lots of differently landscape views! Reward yourself after by hitting up Avery’s for a beer.

Go early or wear tons of sunscreen.

A great leg workout, but too busy for my liking. Got there at 7:30A on a Saturday and snagged the last parking spot. Summit is small so it gets crowded quickly. I recommend going early for parking and to have the summit all to yourself.

Equal parts awesome and difficult. The “stairs” up were brutal at times but the peak was rewarding. Totally worth it. Would recommend starting early and taking sunscreen, some parts are fairly exposed.

Great little easy hike, for a lazy Sunday. Not too crowded, and only a few spots of snow off trail. It was just good to get out! I like that the trail was shaded and I would say it was 50-50 with people wearing masks.

Awesome trail but pretty difficult. I’m in decent shape and it was a very good workout. Steep and plenty of switchbacks but the views are amazing.

Very, very challenging hike for the normal hiker. We got it done but it was excruciating going up, especially the last mile (even harder at the last .4). It took us almost 6 hours to complete. Was well worth the views up top, beat I’ve seen in this area. Definitely recommend this hike. Bring extra water for sure! Amazing trail with beautiful views and a lot of woods, so there’s plenty of shade!

I think on some levels this is could almost be ranked as hard. the incline and decline are steep, and the trail is a bit hard to navigate, we had to look to the map quite frequently. Regardless, some of the BEST views I’ve seen from a hike near Boulder. Would recommend to anyone looking for a slight challenge
