nice view and dog walk

we were trail training our rescue's and they got to see alot of bikes and people very busy . Will come back on a saturday.

Great 1st hike of the season, especially if you're not in shape because of a soft couch all winter. Bike people very respectful of walkers. Had no problems. Went on a Sunday. Good split of shade and sun.

Nice easy walk around a lake at the center of a super cute neighborhood. Did this with our parents who aren’t hikers. Lovely area for a walk! Water is crystal clear. Went on a Saturday and watched paragliders taking off from the mountains behind the lake!

If you’re a hiker, I don’t recommend this trail unless it’s Wednesday or Saturday. Hike took hours longer than it should have because I was yielding to fast, unattentive bikers ( it should have been the other way around ). I was almost hit twice and slipped and fell on my ass once when a bike came around a corner so fast and quietly I had to jump off trail.

Started out OK, but there were a lot of dogs off leash and they really stressed my support dog, Sierra, out. I admit I was pretty high, so I'm not sure how she lost her support animal vest. But it really messed up the reset of the hike, The cops came as well because some of some hassle between a biker and a nude runner. They just bummed me out, bad vibes from the very start.
Oh I also lost my keys. So big buzzkill on the west side of the trail.

Great trail! Has a beautiful view of the flatirons and a creek running along the entire trail for your dogs to cool off on a hot day. They have trash stations through out the trail so you’re not carrying poop bags for too long. Very dog friendly!! My only complaint is that this parking lot is pretty small and space fills up quick. I go in the middle of the day through the week. If there’s no space there’s always dry creek trail a few minutes up the road!

Nice hike on the east portion of the trail. Know that the west portion of the trail isn't really a trail and you must walk (or bike) on the side of the dirt road.

It was an okay walk. Almost half of it is on a dirt road with lots of vehicle, bike, and runner traffic. A lot of off leash dogs as well. Some nice views. Will choose a different 5 mile walk next time.

Easy walking. Walden ponds is extremely quiet and guaranteed to see wildlife!

While the tall peaks were still snowed in it was almost snow free here. Went on a Wednesday so saw no bikes and no other hikers either. Though we were non acclimated Easterners the elevation posed no difficulties. Not one of the more spectacular hikes but it is pretty and a short drive to Boulder. Looks like it gets slammed in the summer.

This trail is built for and meant for mostly bikers. According to the sign no bikes are allowed on Wed and Sat. If you are hiking I would recommend going on one of those days. If not you WILL encounter a lot of bikes and because of how smooth this trail is, they are moving pretty fast. The views here are not great but it is a nice hike through the woods. Not too strenuous with only about 900 feet of elevation gain through the whole hike. There are better options in the area especially if you want to avoid the bikes. If you are on a bike, this trail is awesome.

Very sweet easy walking trail, some incredible cottonwoods along the path. Perfect place to just do a short jaunt or also could wander a good while. Pretty view of front range beyond the lake was where I had to turn back but I intend to go back soon. :)
FYI Picnic bench at trailhead and trash bins but no other amenities.

Great, easy hike. Didn’t need microspikes but it was slick in a couple of spots.

Went on thanksgiving and saw a dozen people out enjoying nature. Off leash dogs are allowed with Boulder yellow tag. You have to go up a steep path if you want to walk by the reservoir.

Great place for mile repeats!

Nice MTB trail. No bikes on Wednesday or Saturday. Good for trail runners too. Over 7 miles of trail in the preserve.

Simple flat trail along a creek. Near busy roads so you can hear car noise, but a pretty nice easy getaway for a nearly in-town walk.

Trail still clear. Very quiet space. I imagine the place is better when the reservoir is full.

Very well maintained easy trail. As we share the trail with bikes at certain points, it would be really helpful if a bicyclist can yell heads-up so that we can get out of its way.

This area is more interesting on bike than foot, but as part of the larger trail system, it's all right.

Nice walk along the creek then crossing over to the walden ponds loop where there's always a ton of birds hanging around the area. A bit stinky for one stretch alongside the sanitation plant next store but not too bad. Saw a Bald Eagle fly right overhead along the creek.

Great wide open paths along the creek with beautiful openings in the trees along the water revealing flatirons in the background.

Busy with lots of off-leash dogs running around but really pretty walk around some open space next to the Baseline Reservoir.

Easy breezy beautiful stroll. Bring the pup!
