NIce hike. no shade. Have done this one multiple times with my kids and dogs. Tend to see a lot of bikers on this trail.

Great hike with a dog lots of shade and water!

Good trail great view. Overall moderate trail with one difficult rock climb

Did this yesterday, super easy trail to find. I aired down for comfort and would possibly recommend it for a few sections but you could probably make it with out. Easy trail and lots of fun. Got to the top in about 90 min.

Not sure why this marked as an easy hike. It is uphill all the way so I’d put it in the range of a moderate hike (it’s ranked as expert for mountain bikers and equestrians). Lots of mountain bikers to dodge and no cover for the majority of the hike. I’m not sure if the fire in 2012 opened this area up or if it’s truly a grassland to shrubland area before the forest? Bring extra water on a hot day, you’ll need it. Great views from the trail and wildflowers made it worth it. The little spur to the waterfall area from the parking lot is a nice area to cool down in. May be a better hike in cooler weather or not on a June weekend.

I really enjoyed this quick trail! My dog and I had a great time. Once you get into the trees, every corner is like looking at a magical path in a fairytale forest. I kept waiting for fairies to pop out. It’s a little late in the season for unicorns, though.

Tip: If you show up and the ranger station is closed, be sure to bring exact change. (1 car is $7)

Beautiful ascent along a creek to an open meadow with aspens. Large rock outcroppings add dramatic views.

Road was closed to 4x4 traffic. Tough/steep hike for first 2 miles. Dogs enjoyed the hike and we saw turkeys and a young male moose. Saw a few mountain bike tracks but had the trail to ourselves.

Nice trail. Half open space, half trees. Not too bad of a climb at the rock. Great views of Fort Collins and Horsetooth Reservoir.

Didn’t run into many people, just a few runners, bikers, and 2 horses/riders. Quiet, great views. Brought my dogs, will definitely be back!

Kind of boring for the first couple miles, but rises up to meet the peaks towards the end with some good views. Barely any snowpack even with this last weeks storms. Greening up with crocus out. Lots of jumping over the stream, my dog was a huge fan. Not too many people either. Beautiful meadows at the top.

Hiked Lower Dadd several times throughout this past winter. Snow was never deep enough to require more than microspikes. This is not a “bang for your buck” kinda hike as far as views are concerned unless you head left on the dirt road once the trails ends. After about a half mile or so the view start to open up. Not so sure there will be much solitude on this trail in the summer. Moderate elevation gain on this trail but nothing too crazy. I also saw a moose here on one of my hikes and mountain lion tracks on another.

on Timber Trail

Used part of Timber Trail as first leg of nice 4.6 mile loop. Turned left on Kimmons, right on West Valley, quick left onto Wells Gulch which connected to East Valley Trail back to Timber parking lot. Timber Trail section is not steep, but almost every step is uphill... the rest of the hike was easy.

Easy but beautiful! Not a lot of shade. Can access the reservoir from part of the East trail.

Pretty decent trail. I went in March and it was pretty snowy and muddy still, but that is to be expected. Not a lot of great views, but it was very pretty near the stream.

It was fun little hike where u have to jump over little creeks very slippery and snowy when I wen on Thursday 3/22/18 and very muddy but it’s an adventure!:)

Mix of moderate and mild inclines. Loose rocks; wear solid traction shoes. Beautiful view at the top. Enjoy :)

Great trail, but wouldn’t classify as easy. (Steep switchbacks with loose rocks.) Wonderful views of Horsetooth Resevoir.

Great hike and a place to really sit and think

Trails a lot of fun today.

Wasn’t the prettiest at first. You have to continue up a road after you finish the trail and then keep going to get a view. Not many people on the trail which is a plus though.

This is a nice trail for a day hike-- great on a hot day as much of it is shady. We went on a holiday weekend ( Labor Day) and the trail was quite busy. We have a leash reactive rescue dog and based on the other comments, we decided to brave the trail with him. There were quite a few dogs but everyone was helpful and there were lots of places to move off the trail if you don't mind bushwhacking a bit. There are lots of pretty wild flowers, great for dogs because of stream crossings and shade, and moderate elevation gain. I would definitely hike this trail again.

The description of this trail is very accurate. Great trail for dogs and their humans! The trail goes gently uphill and crosses streams, meadows, and mountainsides. Lots of shaded areas along the trail so it's a great trail even on a hot day. We started at 8:45 am and saw one other person in 2.5 hours.

this Trail was fun! it was a gradual incline with good length to it, nothing too hard. it is also a very moist Trail, a lot of the time plants and trees were closing in on me and I saw a great variety of mushrooms out and back. we only ran into two other hikers the entire time we were there. it took 6hours to hike 8.5 miles. the trail ends at a dirt road but we kept walking and stumbled into a geocache gamepiece while offtrailing. I would recommend it to anyone looking for good length and a mixup of scenery

went to trial it was everything I expected we only had 4 hours to spend we wanted to come back off the mountain before dark we will return when we have about 10 hours to spin we have not even tapped half of the trail took time for some love making since we were all alone usually Trail is dry as a bone but this time there was rain and we had time to get mud on the outside and mud on the inside

Awesome hike, lots of stream crossings, beautiful pond at the end. One of my favorites prior to its closing. Looking forward to the reopening next summer.

We did this trail last November and we liked it. The little stream crossings are fun and perfect for the dogs to cool down in. Not much to look at and pretty anticlimatic, but if you're looking to just get away from people for a while that trail does the trick.

Very fun trail and easy to get to. Took a little over 3 hours to complete. Today was very cloudy and the plants were wet but the trail itself was relatively dry. I enjoyed all the wild flowers. The trail ends at a dirt road and I'm sure there's a nice view but the fog was thick. I look forward to doing this hike again on a sunny day.
