It's a good workout but not much of a nature trail. Most of the trail is paved (even for the longest route). Parking is terrible. I got there at 7:45 and had to park half a mile away.

Good for views and exercise but not much of a nature trail.

Amazing views of Hollywood and Los Angeles. Parking could be an issue but after 3 or 4 round you finally find it! The trail is not really hard but there is no shade at all, so bring a hat and sunscreen. It is a great place to go for a quick hike and I would definitely go back soon!

This is a great trail, with hiking for all sorts of skills, but it is generally steep.  There is a fire road that is pretty well paved and wide.  There on the west side is an off road type hiking trail where some sort of boots are recommended.  The trails all intersect so I recommend taking a picture of the map when you start because you'll have no cell service and you don't want to be hiking in endless loops.  Plenty of people on the trail but parking is limited for sure and they do ticket

This hike renders a wonderful view of Hollywood/LA and the trail head was easy to find. Be prepared to spend some time looking for parking. However this trail offers some decent incline/decline and is great for a quick hike/workout. There is no shade on the trail, bring a large hat and some water. You'll be just fine!.

Freakin hot out, suggest going at dusk or dawn. Not a whole lot of shade. Good trails, good views, not crowded but a popular spot.

Awesome

Excellent views and a pleasant hike

50% paved urban trail.

was beautiful hikking with my sweetie

Short trail with a great view of L.A

First time I hiked this I was in a tour group with my hotel and I wore a full dress suit which was a terrible idea. Loved the hike so much I had to come back the next day and scale top at Indian Rock, needless to say I choose to wear shorts and a tee instead of a suit.

Very light hike.
We hiked up while there was downfall. Turned out to be the highlight of the hike. Coming down as the clouds cleared was far more beautiful than a clear day or the observatory would provide.
Overall nice easy hike with good views. Should be done by anyone visiting the area.
It only takes a few hours at most. I would recommend going early in the day so you can enjoy a nice lunch in the city while enjoying your photos.

Went around 5am on a drizzly Saturday morning to avoid the crowds; first thing coming into from Fuller st is I had to jump across to the trail to the left of the path that leads in. I was greeted by a long nicely paved road at a moderate incline. Upon reaching the “top” you follow a “down” trail that brings you closer to the views of the Hollywood hills/neighborhoods. It just happened to be a rainy day so I missed the sunrise (which normally would probably be an amazing view I’m assuming). To finish up, I followed the dirt trail down, which happened to be steeper/slippier than the trail up. Led me back to the main paved road near the bottom. Altogether my iPhone said it was about 2.1 miles start to finish. I would recommend for a sunny day but for the avid hiker/runner, be wary of the crowds/dogs. As I neared the bottom (around 630am) there were a lot of people beginning to show up.

I love Runyon, because it’s the only hike that’s also a dog park! All dogs can roam around off leash, my dog loves it!

My first hike in LA, some challenges for the out of shape person, however I and my two little dogs completed the entire hike with a few water breaks. Very beautiful views, and although my dogs were on leash, we didn’t have any issues with the dogs off leash. Will definitely hike Runyon again!

A big too busy for my liking with many dogs off leads giving an added trip hazard to the runner.

Very pretty!

Stellar hike with amazing vistas! Several ways to summit depending on your altheticism. It has the right amount of friendly folks, with the right amount of socialized dogs! You will be challenged, but it's worth every bit of sweat! It's A Must Do!

good hike but parking is terrible and always too many people. views are fantastic.

Great views and all trails lead back to the entrance. I’m sure parking might be difficult, however I live close enough to where I can just walk to the trail

I go here for the views...of the beautiful women... the city view is alright... haha all jokes aside I go here to clear my head and train. Nifty spot just gotta get lucky with parking though, if not it’s a real pain. Other than that just enjoy the views

See and be seen here. Best part about this trail is all the doggies running around free as a bird! Worst parts are that it is hardly challenging and parking is a pain in the booty. The more difficult side is a steep climb up to the top, but the trail down is almost double the distance which is not helpful when you want to burn more calories.
