Gorgeous recently rebuilt trail to lakes that rival Heart Lake for their perspective of Mt Shasta

Great hike ...steep up mt eddy though. It the views are awesome!

This is an opportunity for a quick 2 mile outing. You don't really realize you are circling a college campus once you start on the trail.

we hike this in late October from the PCT Trailhead it was 11.7 Miles round-trip beautiful hike beautiful views at the top

We had a spectacular day on this trail today. It is challenging enough for this 64-year old girl but the views from beginning to the top are worth the climb.

Fun hike. The lakes make for refreshing rest spots. Smoke was too dense to see anything from the summit, so we'll hafta go again.

Lovely lovely backpacking trip to dead fall lakes and a day hike to mount Eddie!

Enjoyed this hike and the various lakes that provided good places to stop and enjoy the views. Despite the smoke we got a great view of Mt Shasta at the summit as our reward for what is a relatively gentle climb

The climb to the clouds.

I hike in the Tahoe area 20-30 miles a week. Definitely have some experience. I wouldn't consider this particular hike to be 'moderate!'
It's definitely not for beginners unless you plan on being out all day. Went up and back in 3.5 hours. Very scenic and lots of solitude. Probably one of my favorites!!

we can't really put a rate on it for the last 2 weeks in a row we have gone back and each time there has been snow on the road leading directly to the trailhead, really wish the roads were maintenance but unless you have a monster truck with 4-wheel drive you and not going to make it through there... looks like we're going to have to wait another month which would be the 1st of June before we can attempt to go back up the road for the trail head...

Not so sure this Trail had much to offer. You can get most of these views without any effort on multiple other trails around here. Maybe it's better earlier in the season when it's cooler and there's snow on the ground, but in mid-august it sucked.

Hiked there Friday before 4th of July. Lots of cars in the upper and lower parking lots but really didn't see many people which was awesome! Always a fabulous Alpine hike.

Took the upper parking lot Trail (not up thru the meadow hill usually with Pitcher Plants). Was a little hot Friday but grateful for the couple of refreshing streams. Wildflowers were just after the peak, but still a great variety of Indian Paintbrush, Lupine, Shooting Star, Alpine Phlox, Pussy Paws, Yarrow, Penstamen, and many more. Hope you get there soon to enjoy another week or 2 of Wildflowers!

Hiking up to Mount Eddy, tons of mosquitos and horse flies or tiny bugs that really hurt!!! I forgot the bug repellent and I rcvd about 30 bites just from the PCT junction up and down Mt Eddy! I've never had this issue in the past and have hiked her dozens of times!

Gorgeous views of Mt Shasta, Black Butte, Castle Crags, Trinity Alps, Lassen Peak and more! There was still some snow at the top of Mt Eddy but nothing to worry about.

One of my favorite hikes in the area! Top contender is 40N45 PCT junction to Porcupine Lake with gorgeous views of Mount Shasta and a view of Gumboot Lake and 2 other lakes. The Wildflowers here were even better than Deadfall Lakes to Mt Eddy!!! Enjoy both 8 - 10mile RT loops!!! :)

The hike was grate. We hiked to the summit of Mt Eddy. After dead fall lake it gets steep and the switch backs but even if your not a grate hiker it's do-able just take your time.

It's a nice hike with all the dead falls lakes around as you hike up. Went up to the top for lunch. Amazing views all around chilled for about hour and a half then hiked down.

We only went as far as Middle Deadfall Lake but it was gorgeous! About 6 miles total out and back to the middle lake from the parking lot. The trail is pretty narrow in places, and one area seemed to have had a rock slide. However, the trail is very manageable by a fit person and not too strenuous. There was a lot of sun and and we got a late start, so part of our party turned around after 2 miles (including my 2 dogs; 5 and 10 lbs).

One of the best places in Northern Ca. Great family day hike. Are some spots to camp near the lakes which make for a great refreshing dip if so inclined. Head up to the summit for amazing views. A geocache to find in the area too.
