Length: 8.8 mi • Est. 3 h 36 m
A very busy trail with joggers, families, and cyclists at the start, but beautiful scenery all throughout and ends at the beach. Accessibility: The trail surface is paved asphalt, smooth, and typically at least six feet wide. The grade is mostly gentle (all estimated under 5%) so most wheelchair and stroller users will likely be able to navigate this trail.Show more

It has been reported this trail has a temporary closure due to COVID-19. Please see the park's website for up to date information. The Anstine-Audubon Nature Preserve is an eleven-acre site located within the County of San Diego adjacent to the cities of Vista and Oceanside. Three native plant communities occur within the boundaries of the Anstine Preserve - Coastal Sage Scrub, Southern Willow Riparian Forest, and Coast Live Oak Woodland. Anstine-Audubon Nature Preserve is FREE and open to the public on Saturdays between 9am and 12pm (closed July through September). There is a feeder station and binoculars to be lent out for birders of all ages and skill levels, and a moderate loop trail that will take you past the pond habitat. There are docents on site to answer any questions as well. Show more
