Great trail to walk for a quick little 90 minute to 2-hour adventure. It’s short and sweet. There is a spot where you can see the islands. Other than that spot, no views really and no big TA-DA moments along the way. It’s a dry dirt trail, easy to navigate. There are a couple of spots where it’s a bit steep and walking poles would help those of us not in the best shape. Dog friendly for sure. PEOPLE, PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG! This time around I saw at least a dozen dog poops along the trail, including a dog waste-bag of poop which is worse than the actual poop. A lot of inconsiderate dog owners use this trail. Watch where you step.

Nice walk starting off at the beach then walk through downtown and up a little steep incline to the cross. Going down took the botanical garden route and back towards the beach. Great little urban hike.

Nice walk around the park. Paved and you can do more than one lap or go off to the bike trail along the freeway if you want a longer distance. Lots of parking available unless there are sports activities happening then parking can be a little tight.

Cool spot. Was not that difficult of elevation at all. I only went 5 miles up then 5 miles back down. Some really cool views though. No shady so if you come during the hot season bring water!

beautiful January weather and a perfect hike after fishing at Smugglers. There are only a couple short cuts but the best one is walking through the Cyprus gross.

Great trail and views of the islands. This one is a must do for the park

This is a great trail with beautiful hills, beach, and ocean views! It requires a whole day because you’ll need to take the ferry out to the islands, but the hike itself will be 4 hours or less (not counting a lunch break) if your an experienced hiker. It’s an out and back with some decent inclines but the ocean views make it worth it. Halfway there is a rocky beach with tables to eat lunch and outhouses for a bathroom break. Would highly recommend and plan to go back myself!

Good but 3/5 of the trail is closed right now due to construction. Gets nice after you stop riding next to the freeway.

Very muddy. It drizzled early on but the sun came out in the afternoon and it was beautiful. Lovely hike to Potatoe harbor via cavern point.

Awesome views! It’s on private property but they host an awesome Christmas family hike with photos with Santa and Mrs Claus at the top next to the Two Trees and with views of the Channel Islands in the background. Super fun, be prepared for steep uphill most of the way out.

It's a concrete pathway nice for a jog or walk, that's about it.

It's a walk up a hill and they charge for it.....has ocean views going for it but you can walk up a hill with ocean views without paying many other places in the area.

Fun hike and great to have it guided. Started with some people who weren't really ready for the hike or aware of hiking courtesy, but they turned around about halfway in. The bay is awesome, if you want to swing bring something to protect your feet.

Great hike through the Channel Islands ecosystem. It is a challenge to get all the way to Pelican Bay and back to the boat landing for the return boat if you spend any time and Pelican Bay or Tinker Bay. The climbs will take your breath away and are a bit of a scramble in places. But this is a must do hike!! We did not see any Island Foxes.

Trail was in good condition. We just did an out and back totaling 10miles. Beautiful views. Lots of up and down. Nice trail. I didn’t find the part that we did to be particularly hard, just up and down a lot.

Had to cut off the trail early for a potty break with my 3 year old. I’m not sure why this trail is rated moderate, my daughter was able to handle it fine. Very little shade and currently very very dry.

Nice little trail. If you want to do loop as shown, one way will be on beach in sand.
