Fun evening stroll with some decent views. Definitely not a trail, but a road ranging from paved to dirt. Worth doing, but not spectacular.

It’s not a trail as much as it’s a road. There’s no trail head. The directions take you about a mile or 2 up the road the hike is on. There’s not a real designated parking lot or “trail head”. Nice close hike to get outside. The last mile-ish is pretty steep and once you’re out of the tree cover it’s warm. The lookout is pretty—they mowed out an area but there’s nowhere to sit and enjoy the view. I’d recommend bringing a blanket to sit on if you plan to have lunch at the vista. Very green and lush in the spring. There’s a stream that runs along the trail but can’t get to it since it’s mostly private property and it’s fenced at the road.

Dogs off leash on every visit to this park. My horse and i were attacked by a Pitbull off leash, and many friends with horses have also been attacked, as have their own dogs. The dog park fence is too low, dogs jump out and attack. If this wasn't bad enough.... the water in the lake is toxic, full of bacterial. Just a puncture wound inn this water can have deadly consequence, and has. The frisbee golf course is a terrifying thing, but the model planes, drones, and parasailers with fans strapped to their backs takes the prize as for what unglues the best of horses. Oh, and don't ride on the bridges, they're old, narrow, and unkempt.

Very beautiful just wish I.T was longer . Less than a 5 minute walk

Took my dog for a hike here a few times now. It’s great but the only thing that sucks is that the entrance from Eleanor Nelson Park has sketchy loiterers. I’ve had one of these loiterers come too close to me to try to chat me up as I was hiking. I also always find a couple homeless men that sit on the benches at the start of the pathway and they smoke and drink alcohol. I had to keep looking behind me to make sure I wasn’t being followed. This is a lightly-trafficked path so honestly I would bring a knife or mace just in case. You can never be too safe.

Hmmmm. I don’t think it’s a trail, more like a road. Don’t look for a trail head, it’s not there.

This trail should be called cow patty trail. Because there are cow pattys every where you step. So since you are hiking basically in a cow pasture I have rated it low. This trail starts in a residential neighborhood and has free parking. But since you are so close to these neighborhoods there are alot of teenagers hanging out in these hills hiking and playing around. The ground also sucks to walk on and is uneven because of the cows. But hey if you like cows and want to see one up close this is the place to be. The view from the top of the mountain is ok. Just looking at neighborhoods and people's back yards. I would honestly go somewhere else.

Beautiful but should not be rated as easy. The trail is pretty much straight up the whole way or straight down. Easy would have some flat land. We made the mistake of going after a rain shoes kept getting stuck in the mud we were slipping an sliding a lot. On way down I sipped and sprained my ankle. I would probably hike it again but not after a rain!

Beautiful walk to warm up and all hills to a nice view. We packed a lunch to refuel and headed back down.

Did this hike 3 days ago my walking app put it at 7.34 miles and took me 2:28. I really enjoyed especially that last couple miles. Trail gets a little narrow coming back down but nothing too bad just be careful it can be a long way down if you fall. Lots of cow land mines but didn’t bother me too much. Lots of cows too, walked right by many and they never gave me a second thought.

I was trampled by a cow. DANGEROUS TRAIL. While there are plenty of warning signs about mountain lions (which are scarce and usually afraid of humans) there are no signs indicating the large population of cows concentrated on the trail. The trail is "dogs on leash" friendly, however having your dog on the trail is EXTREMELY dangerous around cattle. Part of the trail is essentially a cow path through pasture that the cows were actively using and there were calves. I could not see a calf behind a rock and a cow charged me and my dog, but luckily only my legs injured. The trail is beautiful and I recommend using extreme caution and leaving your dog at home. The park should add more signage and warnings as well.

Good go to trail when you don’t have the time and want to stay close to the house. One of my regular trails.

Only crossed paths with two wayward vehicles during our two hour trek. Not what I'd expected but beautiful and quiet nonetheless.

You can drive all the way up during certain times of the year and/or just pull over to explore. The best views in the bay area from the top.

Great hike! Fantastic views & amazing geological wonders. Good place to bring out of town friends.

Hi Kimberly!

Mostly a cow trail going straight up. Cool boulders to climb if you've got some experience. Would like to see the trail switch back across and work it's way to the top. Great hill training!

Short and sweet. The cows along the way compliment the beautiful hike. The view from the top is amazing especially in a clear sunny day :)

Enjoyed a nice stroll around the lake!

Good hike. All paved with a few gravel spots. Steep at the peak. Fantastic after work exercise. Gorgeous view at the top down the canyon towards Sacramento

Okay it was good and all up hill but I had a good hike

Wonderful 2.5 mile walking trail around the lake. Beautiful at sunset and lots of geese & duck to watch. Well kept, clean Trail. Looks like there’s a great frisbee disc course, saw a few groups playing. Only negative thing I’d say is that sound of people flying their drones. They’re not too loud but just annoying. Loved this park!

Well, it's better than no trail. But this trail is very close to a busy highway and the only way to escape the constant loud sound of cars is to wear ear plugs or listen to music. So i definitely don't consider this a relaxing, mind clearing hike. There are some nice things like the little redwood grove. But it's tiny. There's a lake which is cool. But again, the sound of the highway is ridiculous. I honestly feel that if it wasn't for the d*** highway right next to the entire trail it could be a lot nicer. But that's not the reality.
Also if you want to walk along the lake be ready to dodge tons and tons of goose poo. Cool to see gooses. But man do they poo all over the place!

Love this park. Go on a weekly basis. Trails everywhere. Easy to access and find your way around. Parking fee $3 but totally worth it.

Beautiful view

Dogs off leash, frisbee golf, RC planes, paragliders... bring your horse early or on weekdays! We have a lot of dog attacks in the park and dog owners flat out refusing to leash their dog.
