Very nice trail. Very easy to get off course in a few spots other than that good trail to take dogs only if they are on a leash.

Mostly rocky trail the whole way. Amazing views, and the lakes are beautiful.

Great hike, on the quicker side. Lots of trail runners.

Challenging. steep pitches. 1000 feet of vertical in 1 miles. Awesome scenery. it is a special year so everything was green. still had flowers I mid Sept. running clean water in 3 locations.

I thought I would have the lake to myself but it was difficult to find a spot to camp out right by paradise lake because there were so many people camping out. Besides that, it was beautiful.

Mt. Judah loop offers a variety of landscapes for one to stroll through. From beautiful mossy forest, flower laden slopes, and open exposed rock crags. This hike offers great views of Donner Lake, Truckee, the valley floor, and the surrounding mountain sides. A few good climbs with switch backs. The option to hike up Donner Peak is well worth the extra time. Well marked trail at intersections. Also fun to hike a small portion of the PCT along the way. A fair amount of foot traffic on our time out. However, not overwhelming crowds.

Significant trees down 1/3 of the way down. Intentionally cut, had a 10 min Hike a bike through the downfall.

Longer than expected but pretty easy!

I will definitely ride this trail again. Great trail for intermediate riders who have a decent level of fitness. Rode it with my 17-yr old son and had a blast.

A very nice morning walk, perfect weather. We agree with the moderate rating. Just enough variety to stay interesting. Fabulous views

It gets chilly in the tunnels. It’s clear the donners had no chance of succeeding in November.

the trail is not where AllTrails directs. the trail has been redone as part of a project. there’s now an impassable creek where AllTrails’ red line appears.

Absolutely beautiful, and a great place to roll your ankle on a billion rocks

Ended up with 11.2 miles. It was nice and cool with a nice breeze. The first half of the trail was amazing. The road on the second half was dusty and; a road. At Penner lake there is a new trail that seems to side hill the mountain instead of the old trails going up and over. The trail tracks and my tracks shows the old section. They do meet each other on the other side of the mountain about 1/2 mile. Either trail gets you to the same point. There is also a small loop that the original tracks do not include. Its a very short horseshoe; maybe 300 yards.

The road was a little disappointing. I don't really like to hike roads. I wanted to complete the loop and had no choice.

A short hike but well worth going. Very nice views.

Great new trail for us, recommended by locals.

Short, but sweet. Great lake with beautiful view of Devil's Peak.

A nice little change from the trail hiking. It's nice to have a paved trail right along the river, and a peaceful walk.

Great hike to Donner Peak! Left at 4:00 pm on a Sunday. Air was crisp and cool but not cold. No bugs. With some stops to enjoy the views, it took a little less than 3 hours from PCT trailhead to Donner Peak and back. Occasionally steep but not too bad. Kind of a scramble across some rocks to get to the peak. Great view from high above Donner Lake. Fair amount of people on the trail but everybody was friendly. Love the Sierras!

Nice hike; follows a mountain biking trail out to Bill and Flora’s Point for some great views of the American River Canyon; not quite as dramatic as Point Mariah (which you can see nicely, including the interesting escarpment on that ridge) but very much worth visiting. Heads up to a ridge that features Rowton Peak (make sure to sign the logbook!) with even nicer views and cool rock features (keep an eye out for the arch and a neat crag). Hike back down the ridge is easy through some pretty fir forest and meadows. Recommended as an easy and accessible hike!

Great Hike! Not many level spots on this trail! Pretty challenging but the scenery was worth it. Wild flowers and scenery are hard to beat!

Great hike! Views galore, beautiful lakes and fairly easy. The trail between Flora and Azalea is kind of all over the place. The trail marked on the Alltrails map isn't necessarily the main trail. Definitely the least traveled of the bunches of trails in that section. Wasn't bad enough to ruin a great hike, though.
