Definitely a super easy stroll. Beautiful scenery

Just a note- dogs are not allowed into the wilderness area on this trail May 15-July 15. Also- be sure to make noise- we had a moma Bear with her cub cross the trail in front of us!

Very nice. Easy to follow. Creek is pretty in places. Lake is beautiful. Entrance right on 89. Directions will take you to a different way in but you'd need an off road vehicle. Crowded and LOTS of dogs off leash.

Camas Lilies are just starting to open. Maybe next week the will al be open.

Beautiful view of the water awaits you at the turn around point of this out and back trail. You can walk along the waters edge to the
South and connect with the Emigrant Trail to make this a large loop.

Exceptional Single track flow. Well kept, beautiful views and easy access. Small berms on many of the turns make for some fast sections. Easily doable if not preferable on Hardtail but having the full squish was nice on the way back.

Fantastic easy hike! I agree with other reviews. Muddy meadow early in the season, great for dogs who love the water. Listed as a loop, but we didn’t see where the loop went after the lake, so we made it an out-and-back. Also, the description here says that dogs must be leashed, but I didn’t see any signs saying this, so watch out for off-leash dogs. (Most) everyone we encountered with dogs were nice enough to leash their dog when they saw us.

Great time to hike this trail. Limited muddy areas. Wildflowers are just starting.

Nice view of the Donner lake and the mountains... still with some snow caps but perfect weather for a walk.

Nice loop trail! Plus, we saw a blonde bear by the houses midway through the hike! It looked like it just woke up from a long winter nap!

I go to this trail a few times a year and love it every time. My son and I went up today. It was snowy, but still a great hike with beautiful views. It's one of my favorites.

I love this early season hike. Very easy. Trail was muddy in spots due to early season. The meadows are very muddy. But beautiful.

Super easy hike. The driving directions to the trailhead are wrong the actual trail head is right off of Highway 89. Beautiful wildflowers a little bit muddy

Still under snow the entire way, so ty oil longer than expected. Beautiful views. My dog (wee but with huge attitude beagle/terrier/daschund/mini heeler) struggled with the snow at times but mostly because she went off trail. Can't wait to do it again when the wildflowers are out.

Was out there this week pack the sun screen and water/mudboots totally manageable and enjoyable as long as your prepared! Great views of the surrounding mountains as our snowpack begins to melt:)

Picturesque easy hike. It is walkable now (Feb. 10!) but very muddy with icy spots.

Beautiful trail, alpine meadow, wet marsh, wooded sections. Not technical. Today was quite icy in the woods & muddy elsewhere. Absolutely hikeable.

Very dog friendly and clean

Warning! In order to cross Sugar Bowl terrain during their ski season, a uphill pass is required. Even with an uphill pass, only some uphill routes are approved and unfortunately this is not one of them. I ran into a ski patrol while attempting this trail and was turned around. They told me to visit Sugarbowl.com and read the uphill policy for more information.

Great easy trail

Absolutely gorgeous! Park right off the highway as the road to the trail head is narrow and there is no closer parking. Trail was easy to follow the tracks until it crossed the ski runs.

It’s a good hike , very moderate- not to hard . Views are great.

A lot of wildflowers during May

More of a nature walk or easy trail run. Not much of a hike. Pretty views though. It was a bit muddy yesterday as well.

A bit muddy since there has been no snow and it’s been warm. Pretty creek.

wonderful views

This is a great trail if you’re looking for something easy. If you want something that is more strenuous, look elsewhere. It’s far enough back that you get the sense of seclusion minus a few cars that pass by on the road. It seems the trail has been completed a bit since this trail was entered in AllTrails. It goes further now that what the map shows. I believe you can actually go to Highway 89 and then on the Prosser. We turned back because we were done battling the ice.

Easy and pleasant walking trail with some beautiful lake and mountain views. There isn’t much change in elevation, but it’s still a good walking/running trail with ample space to explore along the beach.

Description says no dogs but that is not correct. You can do dogs on leash. Northshore side has a lot of vehicle traffic so can loud and dirty.
