beautiful views and amazing trail.

The directions take you down a dirt road that is relatively rocky so make sure you have a car with decent clearance. We also never found the actual trail head but it was fun to explore and walk along the train tracks!

three of us plus one dog and had a lovely time. nice Meadow and then you got some shade and Creek. good day

Pleasant beautiful loop, definitely go out to Donner point.

This forest has been hit hard by the drought. Lots of dead and downed trees along the hike. So this trail is not about the journey, but the destinations: the huge boulders along the way were mind-boggling! The large pond at the end of the trail is worth exploring - it's beautiful. That said, I do not recommend this hike, because the point is the journey, not the destination. We decided to circumvent the same miserable forest on the return and cut through the campgrounds to return via the lake pathway. A bit longer, but a much more pleasing return. I would not do this hike again.

We walked this trail in mid Sept so we almost had the trail to ourselves. It’s definitely a glorified “park” trail, but it was still very nice. Mostly wooded with a few open spots and all flat. There are restrooms and benches along the entire trail. I’m sure if we had walked this during the crowded months, it would have a different feel. Good for walking your dog and getting some exercise but if your looking to do a mountain trail hike, this isn’t it :)

*good for walking, dog walking, little kid hike, flat trail running.
*very easy, very pleasant, flat.
*nice creek runs through it year around

Road to get down to the actual trail is not suitable for all vehicles. Had to park up by devils tower look out cause of the road. Other then that absolutely great and fairly easy for all

This hike is stunning with all the small lakes scattered about every mile. For backpacking, I agree with Tyler that the second half of the hike is very underwhelming because after Lindsey Lake, you are walking uphill on a road. I would definitely backpack this route again but I would do an out and back from Carr lake to Upper/Lower Rock Lake.

Amazing views!

The view at the end is everything.

Good for running.. not a hike at all... Anyone can do this trail. 3/4 of this train is in the sun.
Was not worth driving out to in my opinion.

on Paradise Lake Trail

Out and back Hike was terrific. Lake is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen in the area.

Nice flat trail. Partial shade, follow the blue dot. If you start in the parking lot of the Tahoe Donner cross country trail head, you round up to six miles+.

Short hike with a rewarding finish, beautiful canyon views. Hiked it in late summer so it was a bit dusty, but there's enough tree cover that you don't get too baked. During the spring I'm guessing this is aflame with wildflowers!

Loved it. Beautiful views. It’s a good work out for those that want to push it. Or you could take it easy and enjoy the scenery.

Took my daughter and I and we completed it in two hours. We ran the whole way back..

There were only a few other hikers in the area.

*popular hike....lots of folks here.
*easy hike....not well signed though...
*beautiful views, very pleasant ...some shade.
* bring enough water- there isnt any here.

Loved it!!! Great day hike!

I salute those of you who day hike this baby. I even had a man running who passed me twice! I am new to the backpacking world, but this hike kicked my butt. I would like to thank the gentleman a couple of post below for the good call on the sign that says Warren’s Lake +1 with and arrow on a rock going left. Do not go left! All Trails also said to go right, but I remembered your post just in case! The All Trails app and my trekking poles saved my butt on this one. It was an incredible adventure. So beautiful and so quiet. Trail was nicely marked. I only saw one couple on the way in. The hike is up and down a lot, but on the last decent to Warren’s lake it was grueling. Trekking poles were a must for me. You’re going straight down rocks and gravel and to my credit I only fell once ha! As I was backpacking with full gear on it took me a bit longer then without. At the bottom I found a secluded little campsite to the right with its own fire pit and beach trail. There are more campsites out to the left and up the rocks after the site I chose. A lot of hikers and backpackers camp here so you’re really not alone. Absolutely beautiful lake and worth every moment of agony.

The other reviewers were right, the view at the end is stunning! There isn't much to see on the rest of the trail (except for another viewpoint about a mile in) but the view at the end made it worth it. We went on Labor Day weekend and saw a few other groups and dogs. Park your car right where the dirt road begins and walk down to the gate to begin the trail.

Pretty but mostly in trees. Pretty flat. Would be more fun on a bike than the hike.

Great trail run. Ran it on Labor Day, and crowds weren’t too bad.

I love this trail for running. Nice distance, reasonably flat for the area, running on dirt, open and there's some cool wildlife to check out.

A great spur off of the PCT. Beautiful! Only a few campers on a Monday. Locals had told me that the lake is packed on the weekends but Its a pretty nice size so that should not be an issue. I recommend a visit. Stay the West side for the AM sun

The views are spectacular, and the last mile is extremely technical getting down to the lake. The weather was perfect this time of year. Lots of wildflowers, and little creeks to get water when needed. There were only 3 sites to camp at the base of the trail right at Warren Lake. We weren’t expecting to see so many groups and were lucky we could snatch one up. I would definitely do this one again!!

Walked with 3 kids (7, 6 and 3) 3 year old in ergo. Definitely dusty so plan on cleaning feet afterward! The view was worth the whining on the way up - the kids even agreed and were in much better spirits on the way back
