Really easy and short paved trail up to view point.

It was burned in 2010 and hasn’t fully recovered yet. It was still a cute hike with a 4yo.

This is a beautiful desert trail that is much less popular than the preserve trail on the other side. In the spring, the wildflowers are amazing. BUT BEWARE! Don’t leave ANY valuables in your car. We didn’t pay enough attention to the broken glass in the parking lot. It turns out this is a common target for smash-and-grab thieves. Our car window was broken and we lost a lot of valuables from our car. This is a risk at any trailhead, but this one seems particularly bad.

Wonderful hike, clearly marked. Walking through the sand for some of the hike is a great workout and not difficult at all. Beautiful wildflowers of all kinds, the mesquite is almost in bloom. Loved seeing a chuckwalla sunning itself. There are a lot of palms.

Beautiful views. Extremely windy when we were there. Lost the trail a few times on the ascent but not too hard to find your way especially because you can see the point the whole time.

We really like this hike. Today we Arrived at 9:00 am but a car (Jaguar ) had a smashed drivers window. A crowbar was on the ground beside it. We did not want to risk another parking lot break in. We did not feel comfortable and decided to chose another trail up highway 74.

This is not the Hidden Palms Trail, it is part of the Pushawalla Palms Loop. The Hidden Palms Oasis is located to the South of what is shown of this trail. The Pushawalla Loop actually drops down into the Palms at the East end of the ridge and follows the creek North through the Pushawalla Palms and then swings and makes a loop around to the SW. just before you reach the ridge trail again pick up the trail heading West and follow it along the North side of the ridge along the wash. This will bring you back to the junction where the trail started up the ridge, just before you get to the parking lot. This trail is difficult to hike due to loose sand. It is well marked until after the palms. Once you turned to the right the markers stop. It is much longer than stated. One trail may blend into another but there is no marker with any information. It isn’t safe if you don’t know how it returns to the lot. We didn’t and turned around. It is what it is and taught us to stay away from underdeveloped trails. Ratings on all trails are not real accurate but the reviews tell the story.

This is NOT the Hidden Palms Trail. It is NOT easy. It is MODERATE with DIFFICULT stretches, especially when doing the loop clockwise. Do not attempt when there is a high wind warning as half of the route is atop the ridge.

A quick and easy hike, has springs and spottted many birds.

This is a lovely introduction to desert hiking. Beautiful views and a hidden oasis to explore as well

Trail needs better markers. I had to use all trails to know where to go.

The palm stand at the base of the hill is all burnt out from a recent fire. The trails are not marked well and we ended up following a river bed and then improvising our way to the top of the hill. Decent desert mountain views at the top but lots of garbage along the way. The parking lot felt very unsafe. It’s right beside a busy highway and there was evidence of at least three broken windshields in the lot. Easy hike on sand otherwise but mostly mediocre views for the rest. Don’t recommend.

This hike was hot and dry in January. The wash is very long. The views are great!

The trail blends in with the surrounding desert, so it is easy to accidentally fold yourself off trail. The trailhead is by the large boulder in the parking area for Keys View. In early January there was snow and ice in several places - I recommend wearing shoe traction devices. The sunrise from the top was beautiful, and there are a couple cholla cacti on the way to the top that seem to glow with the rising sun.

A lotta bang for your buck. Pretty much straight up, but less than a mile, and not too hard of a climb. Today, January 3, 2020, weather was perfect.. high 50s..No one else on the trail... snow on the top and on the way up, (not enough to need spikes or anything), and great views from the top. A pretty easy hike with amazing 360 view once you get to the top. WAY BETTER THAN JUST LOOKING OUT FROM KEYS VIEW. Cool view of the Saltan Sea. Also,... trail is not well defined, but if you just start climbing from the parking lot you will get there.

Road closed as of 12/28/2019.

This was a great hike! Most of the trail follows the dry river bed, skirting the mountains. About halfway through it seem like it’s going to be like an out and back but it starts to ascend. You’ll get to the top and have an amazing view of the snow-covered mountains and everything in between. At this point the trail is dirt and small rocks. Note that the sign will say Willis Palm trail but you’ll need to stay left to skirt the side of the mountain which will lead you back to the trailhead. Excellent hike!

Initial trail took a minute to find. Zoom into the trail map for the first 0.1 miles past the paved trail. The views are spectacular.

Great vistas, ash covered trails part way, slippery under the palms. Fun low intensity hike in the Indio Hills area.
