We took the bus from Susanville to Westwood & rode the entire trail. One thing we didn’t know was they drop you off near a gas on Hwy 36 & then had to ride up hill on Hwy A21 for 3 miles. No signs at all of where to turn off to get to the trail. We turned off onto a dirt road marked 101, finally found a forest work & he pointed in the right direction. At the beginning of the trail head was the only sign. Otherwise once on the trail we weren’t totally sure if we were going in the right direction. Once you get to Devil’s Corral it was marked & a great ride. I would do the entire ride again knowing where we were going, but would be nice to have the beginning marked much better.

Great, quick hike with amazing views of SRP! Not the best trail in the county, but a very VERY good trail to hit, especially in fall with all the color changes in the leaves,

Just hiked this trail from Susanville to four miles past Goumaz. It was a great hike. We started at the old railroad depot in Susanville and made it to Goumaz for a great overnight camp. Will definitely backpack it again next year all the way through. Goumaz is a great campground at the halfway point of the trail. Check it out if you can.

Great for walking just watch out for people's dogs and what their dogs leave behind. The South side trail is algreat for getting in shape for your backpacking trip it offers terrain features were the Bizz trail is flat.

This is one of the top rated rails to trails in the country and well deserved. Walk, bike or snowshoe in the winter. Start in Westwood and bike the 26 miles down for a fun and mostly downhill ride.

This is a nice dirt road trail thanks to the Rails to Trails project. I ran it for about 8 miles from hobo camp. It's totally flat up to that point. It's scenic all the way with ample spots to access the Susan river and cool off if needed. Partly shaded but definitely dry and hot when I ran...which was a. It late (10am) due to the Lassen brewery session the night before.

Run this trail every morning from the fire station. Easy incline and declines. Entire trail is paved from the marina to Christie campground.
