Explore the most popular surfing trails in California with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

Great trail with awesome views! Easy & quick, but if you go towards the Tide-pools you'll extend the hike & discover marine life. It's adjacent to the Torrey Pines gliders, which you'll see gliding above you throughout your Hike. Depending on the season, you'll stumble onto a *nude* beach ;)

Despite the interesting location, there's not much of a reason to visit this location. Most of the trail is lined with old, dirty carpets, probably so those windsurfing can walk them without wearing shoes. There's loads of trash and abandoned windsurfing gear everywhere, and it costs $5 to enter this space. Unless you want to go windsurfing, there's little reason to visit this place

No dogs allowed. Was disappointed about that!

It must have been beautiful a little while back based on the reviews, but it was hard to even give this two stars. On the trail on the bluffs you can’t see anything and it’s muddy, then you walk down to the beach on your way back on the “loop.” Not worth $15 whatsoever. You’re basically paying to walk along the beach.

Nice beach w trails

Saw whales and seals (I think they were seals) therefore 5 stars

One of the best hikes I’ve ever done! Beautiful views and tons of options. Would love to go back and do a trail run next time!

Gorgeous path down to the beach with a wonderful variety of wildflowers and views. It’s another access point that connects to Goat Beach too (I’m guessing tides may be a factor). Great spot to bring your dog and run on the beach. Excellent bird watching beach as well. I really enjoyed the awesome cliffs, sedimentary rocks and scarfs. P. S. Take the Goat Rock Beach exit (Blind Beach is in smaller text) off Hwy 1 and the small paved parking lot will be the first one on your left. Bathrooms were closed when we were there on a Sun but generally the ones down by Goat Rock are open.

Love this trail. So so beautiful. The California coast is hard to beat. Trail is very easy, but well worth it!

No regrets

Loved the cave. I wish people would respect nature and not vandalize it. There is some graffiti on the rocks and in the cave but it was still beautiful being above the ocean on cliffs looking out.

Nice dog friendly trail with lots of parking

This is my very favorite trail to take all levels of hikers! The beauty of this hike is so amazing and easy! Even difficult trail hikers love it!

I take all of my out of town guests here! It’s more of a walk than a hike if you start at the top. I usually park at the beach and climb up the hill to the “hike.” Every time I’ve been there’s seals sleeping on the rocks, it’s right before you reach the wooden bench lookout spot, if you’re walking away from Pt Dume Beach. If we can’t decide where to go for the weekend, we end up here. Stellar views!

There’s parking on PCH but very difficult to find an empty parking space most days. We parked inside the park (parking was $15). The trails were easy to find and there’s pamphlets at the trail head so you can pick your trails. There was a LOT of traffic on the trails (Friday afternoon) but the views were amazing. The trails take you right down to the beach where you can walk around or jog along the water. We saw whales along the coast as we hiked back up. If you want an ocean view and don’t mind the heavy foot traffic, this is the place for you.

Easy relaxing paved path along the beach/coast for running/walking

Great little hike through the woods in Elk country and back on the beach. It can be done as a loop on the beach or an out and back. There is a large resident Elk herd in this area. Today they were no where to be seen but plenty of fresh tracks. The trail is signed for no dogs and the beach for dogs on leash but many have dogs off leash on this beach. At the end of the trail to go down to the the beach is a little steep but there are a couple of ropes to help you on your way. My thanks to the thoughtful people that put them there...

Beautiful views. Challenging part of the way but in a fun. The caves are unique. The turkey vultures gliding around made it more fun. Definitely worth the trip.

Great trails, nice views. Lost 1 star for the high price of entrance ($20).

Gorgeous hike along the coast. Healthy ups and downs - the downs were a bit steep and could be tricky with loose rocks.

Did this at night in the rain. Was super beautiful. Across the bay is you can see the San Diego downtown skyline all lit up.

Good quick hike! Fun! Had to rock scramble a bit at the very top! Went on a nice windy day!

Beautiful and unique. Very, very steep.

Best views from the side trails.

Very easy trail to follow (coastal trail); very steep elevation! It’s 11-14 miles round trip, so you’ll need to start early (plan for ~6 hours), bring lots of water, sunscreen and snacks.

Awesome beach views, but can get windy.

Gave it 4/5 starts because my personal preference is for more mossy/woodsy and/or varied scenery and this is broad daylight and coastline the whole time.

Beautiful Views. Like many people have mentioned, bring a lot of water. There is not much shade on most of the trail.

Favorite walk. Used to walk this everyday when I lived in PB.

Amazing I go on this trail all the time it’s right next to my home and it’s got amazing view of the beach.

Unbelievable views!!!

Pleasant Walk, Loved the nice little shops around, lot of people and activities around... It would be great day out on sunny day here...
