No better place to watch the sunset.

Awesome trail with few great overlook points! Must Go place !

I'd really call this a walk more than a hike. I've been here many times and usually see dolphins. It's also a great walk to take out of town guests to show off the beauty of the SoCal coast.

Nice trail to do with small kids
Awesome views to the ocean and great bare foot beach walk to the parking lot

I didn’t see a single piece of trash on my way to the wind caves but then I saw someone leave bags of dog poo in the parking lot. If you’re going to bag dog poo only to leave it on the ground, don’t bag it to begin with. You can also hear the nearby highway from the smaller peak. If you have 90 minutes to burn I suggest this hike. Otherwise I think there may be better options nearby

Like others have said, it's a nice relaxing walk, but not a trail - it's a mixed use sidewalk/path. It's gorgeous, though, and great for walking with a friend.

Awesome beach and wasn't crowded at all. You can have fires on the beach here as long as you fill out a permit at the visitor center. Great place to relax and play in the water a bit if you don't mind chilly water.

breathtaking views overlooking the beach and ocean! very peaceful and serene!

A little muddy a day after rain. Paved further down. Nice being by the beach. Good trail and also with a dog.

Fun way to get in a small sweat and 10,000 steps.

Sign said no dogs. I wish the data on AllTrails was accurate. Long way to drive to find out you can't take your dog.

It was closed when we went

Nice hike along the ocean. We walked south and up the trail to the entrance to Sunset State (restrooms located here) and back. 4.7 miles. There were a few walkers along the way, with a few people fishing and surfing. Walking in sand can be tough.

Beautiful view!

I live close by, and try to power walk the trail a few times a week. It can be crowded, but always enjoyable.

very short trail a bit of hill in the beginning and at the turn around but nothing too crazy. the biggest thing is that the parking lot is not to the South of the restaurant as is mentioned in the description but actually to the North. Additionality, the start finish parking lot recommended here is a bit small so I recommend parking at the larger lot at Gray Whale Cove then hiking south to Montara opposed to starting at Montara and hiking north to Gray Whale Cove.

A beautiful and easy hike. Wonderful when it’s hot out east or anywhere. Start down the beach at low tide and hike up to go against traffic and the major crowds. Be sure to check the tides and enjoy!

Beautiful trail and views, not very hard at all. Really crowded.

The water was 62 degrees. crystal clear 40' visibility the dive was perfect. Tons and tons of marine life and different species of fish. Surf was extremely rough getting in and out with monster waves smashing you repeatedly on the cliffs if you don't have a game plan and a little bit of luck with your timing.
