My husband and I completed this hike in two days- creating a little back packing adventure out of it. We did this trail in Oct. 2016. The hike was fairly easy (for the most part) with various scrambling sections over a few rocks. There were patches of snow in shaded spots but we mostly hiked along the mountain ridge and through several meadows. Take plenty of water!!! The altitude can really get to you if you aren't used to it.

We camped in Meiss Meadow along Meiss cabins and continued on the following day back to Echo Summit. I'd say the hardest part was Hawley Grade. It was a steep climb back to Echo Summit.

Really great moderate hike, beautiful views in the meadow and of the lake. The lake was frozen when we got there, ice was thick enough for several meters in for us and the dog to walk. The way up was snowy and icy - having microspikes helped basically the entire way. To the lake and back took about 3hrs, and we took our time up.

We hiked this today and it was beautiful! Cool on the trail so dress in layers. Not too many people but enough to make it fun! The only bummer is you have to park at the top of the park and hike down to the trail head. Not bad when you are heading out but an uphill trek at the end.

Trail was clear until towards the top of the ridge on the hike in, 1-2" of snow in patches. Same with around the lake. Weather was cold and windy, plenty of downed fire wood around all the camp sites. Didn't catch any fish but they are there. Climbed up the rock formation, not recommended with snow.

The meadow is wet in the Spring and braided trails are developing. Buttercups bloom first then Asters both are beautiful. Round Lake had a pair of nesting bald eagles this year. A great hike with access to Dardanelles lake as well.

This is pretty easy to moderate hike having a paved terrain. Hiking through the lush green Meadows was very pleasing to eyes. The lake by itself serves a good place for backpacking. the hike is almost fully through the dense wilderness and hence was very pleasurable. The rating of 3 has been provided based on the scenery around the lake, as the other side of the lake features a rocky terrain.

Fantastic - and if it's warm don't forget to take your swimming gear as lots of places along emerald bay to have a dip

Hiked from DL bliss to eagle falls, took the Vikings trail back to emerald Bay parking lot and got a ride back to DL bliss entrance station, then took the lighthouse trail back to the car, what a day, amazing views and saw a lot. start EARLY, we got to the park at 8am and had vista point emerald bay and the park practically to ourselves on a Sunday.

One of my favorite hikes! You are along the lake for most of the hike, and the hike gets low enough at points where you could easily go for a swim (though water was very cold when we went in late September). The trail is mostly flat so hike is not very strenuous (I saw a few kids in it). There is a $10 fee to get in the state park and there is limited parking. The state park also has access to the beach (calawee cove) so you can make a full day of it.

Went up via Glen Alpine, great little hike. Was surprised to see so much water still, the falls were running strong! Here's to another great winter!

Hiked here from Aloha Lake - ~10 mi round trip. Steep climb up to the lake, but lovely little lunch spot. Had hoped to summit to Mt Tallac but had to turn back due to the time. Plenty of spots to camp around if you get up here!

Steep for us novice backpackers! Especially the switchbacks before the meadow. But short. A few wildflowers left, no mud, pretty. The meadow is gorgeous. Hiked in shorts and tshirts, just now getting chilly.
