The trail is pretty much the beach so I am unsure of we can call this a "trail". We had a very enjoyable walk on the sand and if you like driftwood (like my wife) you will truly enjoy this one! We tried to find access points along the beach to the roads above and there are few that are not private property and reservation land. Still it is a beautiful beach walk and we encountered only 2 people the entire morning!

good for the family

The trail is well maintained and a nice easy walk. The 4 mile drive to the trail, is terrible. No phone service or gps service either.

trail is still visible even with all the fire devastation. the information signs have all been replaced.

Homeless have moved off the beach... Probably just for the winter.

Took the wife and dogs. Very serene and barely a sound other than us...

Went back and completed it to the mouth. Beautiful area... Be careful in the middle where the waypoint is. On the map it appears some kind of road tees to the short bluff above. There are a few homeless? camps/structures that seem to be permanent. Gave them a wide berth and had no issues. They definitely picked a pretty place to set up camp.

Really a 1 1/2 which is the worst rating I've ever given a hike... Miles of dirt mountain roads to get to and the trail is just another dirt road that is overgrown. The highlight was a wrong turn and going up toward Mt Emily. But even the views were tainted because of the nearby fire. The trail itself is a nothing and even though sites say the trail is 1.8 miles I didn't actually find the site and never will. The track I posted is wrong as well. The trail was an out and back and it appears as a loop for some reason... Highly recommend that no one bothers with this one!

Nice clean trail. Caution though as the drive in is a little rough. The drive in is 4 miles of largely 1 lane road, with no actual pull outs if you meet someone going the opposite way. Fairly rutted in places too making for a fairly long 4 miles.

Beautiful little redwood trail that is one of few places redwoods are in Oregon and this one almost straddles the Ca border. The only disappointment is that it is so short and takes a little time to get to. There are some beautiful old growth redwoods that are definitely in a place you wouldn't expect. The trail is 4 miles up a very little used dirt road off the Winchuck. There are a few old logging roads on the way up that are nice hikes that I have done with my dog and I seldom see anyone else there...
