Intense at the start going up Hummingbird trail but a good long loop. It’s mostly all exposed so start early.

This was a fantastic hike with great views. I hike up this trail and come down the Las Llajas trail, which makes a roughly 9.5 mile loop. Great for a good calorie burn. Bring water.

Fun hike. Challenging. The uphill route is steep and nearly vertical at points. The path is dusty, so it can be slippery. This is particularly important on the descent, where footing requires attention. The path is narrow, steep and the fall-off is sheer. The hike offers a great workout. No foliage, so bring sunscreen and a lot of water. The payoff is the walk to the crest of the hill - lovely oaks and a beautiful view. Bonus: we also met a bull! A longhorn that looked like "Ferdinand" come to life!

This is a good moderate steady uphill climb with great views of Simi Valley and the San Fernando Valley. Just note that when you get to the first fork, head left rather than right to continue up the trail. I had veered right and there are a few scrambly climbs and a viewpoint and beautiful plateau like area with wildflowers, but to continue the trail, go left.

There were a surprising number of people on the trail for a weekday evening and everyone was quite friendly and seemed like experienced because no one seemed taxed.

I started the hike in the evening around 6.20 and wanted to get back before dark so I did not make it all the way to the top, so I definitely am coming back. Surprisingly, other people were starting up the trail around 7.40 so I would love to hear what their experience was like starting the climb an hour before dark!

awesome and adrenaline pumping

If you follow the red trail that is shown, it is a steep and narrow trail. Took our two little kids and it was rough. I don't feel like the hike outlined is the correct one perhaps? We were definitely mislead. Lots of trail options there, but if you follow the red outlined trail, it's not easy and has you take strange paths. Wouldn't recommend for kids.

Great trail, it did get a bit confusing at times with following the path but with a little bit of exploring I found some red arrows painted on the rock floor, did this hike in about 80° weather and on my own, felt safe and it was pretty enjoyable to see how the path follows on rock for a bit.

Great view

Nice 4 miles with a loop. Pretty views. Lots of wildflowers and birds. But also a lot of BEES, bikers, and lizards. Went late morning on a Sunday and saw only a handful of other hikers. No parking lot, just a dirt pull out, and No port-o-johns.

Hiked all the way to the Chumash trail and back. It turned out to be 8 miles for me. Great views once it cleared up. Got there at 5:30am on a Saturday and there was quite a few cars parked already. There more parking across the bridge.

Great trail and the incline to the top is a great work out and challenge. Lots of hawks circling overhead. Hills are still green and beautiful. I went up another 1.5 miles on the Rocky Peak trail. Just an awesome hike and workout.

Great trail and the incline is great leg work out.

Easy trail. 4.7 miles from the parking lot, 1:16 at 3.8 mph average hiking pace. Stay left a 1st fork. I did the loop counter clockwise. A couple short semi steep hills at very beginning of the trail and at the end of the loop, the rest is easy. Not a lot of scenery, urban views. Horses use the trail, watch out for droppings and lazy dog owner droppings. Good short workout. Probably prettier when it's green

The weather was great for a hike. We parked our car behind the museum in the parking lot and walked up the fire road passed by The Village. There was no trail sign so we just kept following the fire road. Eventually we got lost and wound up at the top of Long Canyon Trail. We couldn't figure out the loop so we just came back the same way completing 5.7 miles by the end. Conclusion: take a map with you. The GPS didn't work well.

This hike is amazing. The views go on as far as the eye can see. I felt like the further back on the trail I went the more beautiful the scenery was. Well worth the climb!

Like this trail a lot and it has become my regular trail, very pretty. Very overgrown right now on the trail that runs parallel to Long Canyon Road - I hope they trim it back because you are brushing up against all the grass and bushes through that part. And a big heads up - it's tick season! I pulled 3 off my dog today and had 1 fall out of my shirt when I came home and was changing. Also, lots of fox tails right now on all the dry grass. It was an expensive trip to the vet to have one removed from my dog's ear canal. No, you cannot see it inside the ear - but your dog will be shaking their head.

Love this hiking trail. There even is a tire swing if you can be adventurous and find it.. ps. it’s near the area where the post shows you “who was here first, the rock or the tree”

As much a climb as it is a hike. I would say it’s unique in that way as compared to most hikes in and around the area. Great views and certainly you get a workout on this one.

Great easy trail with the option of a more challenging shortcut. Absolutely beautiful at sunset or sunrise. Make sure to look for the prayer box near the cross!

Best part is being able to see all of Simi Valley from the top.

Excellent trail. Once you pass the initial incline, you go through beautiful flats with tons of flowers, oak trees, and shade. Gorgeous views from the peak. Not very busy/noisy. Hidden gem.

There wasn't a waterfall, but if you like lizards, this is the trail for you!

Beautiful views! Was insanely windy when I went which made it slightly more adventurous. But very easy hike, not too many inclines.

Loved the hike for the most part, but if you are afraid of heights this is not for you. I don't know exactly what my problem was (vertigo?), but certain parts were extremely anxiety provoking and had me hugging the ground. I stopped right before the last treacherous rock climbing section and did not make it to the top. I felt like a complete dork, but on the plus side I'm alive!!! lol. 5-star rating for the young who were climbing up like billygoats and I'm sure the view is out of this world.

As someone else said, I ended up missing the loop and going towards a housing area a couple of miles down. Since It had rained I came upon a gnarly mud pit that almost took me out
