on Las Llajas Trail

Nice 9 mile loop. I started on Las Llajas and ended with the Chumash Trail. Las Llajas is a smooth fire road while Chumash is a technical single track so plenty of variety plus great views.

The weather was great for a hike. We parked our car behind the museum in the parking lot and walked up the fire road passed by The Village. There was no trail sign so we just kept following the fire road. Eventually we got lost and wound up at the top of Long Canyon Trail. We couldn't figure out the loop so we just came back the same way completing 5.7 miles by the end. Conclusion: take a map with you. The GPS didn't work well.

This hike is amazing. The views go on as far as the eye can see. I felt like the further back on the trail I went the more beautiful the scenery was. Well worth the climb!

Beautiful views with wildflowers in spring. The trail transitions aren’t intuitive - I wouldn’t have figured out the transition from the Chumash trail to the Hummingbird trail without a map.

Love this hiking trail. There even is a tire swing if you can be adventurous and find it.. ps. it’s near the area where the post shows you “who was here first, the rock or the tree”

Awesome views! A favorite trail among mountain bike riders. Bring lots of water. Few parking spots. Please pick up after your 4-legged friends.

Great easy trail with the option of a more challenging shortcut. Absolutely beautiful at sunset or sunrise. Make sure to look for the prayer box near the cross!

Best part is being able to see all of Simi Valley from the top.

Excellent trail. Once you pass the initial incline, you go through beautiful flats with tons of flowers, oak trees, and shade. Gorgeous views from the peak. Not very busy/noisy. Hidden gem.

There wasn't a waterfall, but if you like lizards, this is the trail for you!

My absolute favorite hike, for a workout my def go to hike.

Beautiful views! Was insanely windy when I went which made it slightly more adventurous. But very easy hike, not too many inclines.

As someone else said, I ended up missing the loop and going towards a housing area a couple of miles down. Since It had rained I came upon a gnarly mud pit that almost took me out

I went on this hike to find the steam shovel. I asked a lot of people and no one knew what I was talking about when I would stop them to ask for directions, but thanks to a group of people that I ran into. They knew exactly where it was at and told me how to get there. From the beginning you hike 2.7 miles. So about 700 feet after you cross the creek for the 3rd time. Right at 2.7 you will see a small trail that is 12 inches wide on the left. Take that up for 1.8 and make sure to take water because that 1.8 is all incline, but it is not too bad. A kid can do it and so can a dog or you can even mountain bike it.

Great hike. Dogs are allowed on leash. Many trails that branch off the main trail to add some variety.

Nice afternoon hike. Not many hikers and a couple of bikers. Trail is in decent condition but not as overgrown on the loop as I was expecting. No wildlife seen other than birds.

kid friendly! I loved it.

starts off easy if you are going clockwise, but about 3 miles in it gets tough.

Easy trail to run. Up and down in 20-25 minutes. Good exercise while the boys are practicing across the street at Simi Youth.

Solid hike and a workout! The way out is a steady climb with some substantial inclines. The trail is rock and hardscrabble. Bring a lot of water. There is not much shade. Views of urban sprawl are really good.

Love this trail! The views are some of the most spectacular I have seen, and it doesn’t even take too much effort to see them. It’s awesome being able to see both sides of the mountain. The freeway is quite loud for most of the beginning of the trail but once you get further into the mountain, it’s very peaceful and doesn’t feel like you’re that close to civilization at all. Definitely brings tons of water and sunscreen because there is hardly any shade.
