This trail is not hard. I ran to the 3 mile mark and at that point you have 2 options where you can left and the trail is all incline apt right where everyone goes through. I went 1/2 up in the left and then turned around. Total was just under 7 miles with less than 500 elevation gain. Good and easy for running. There was a lot of people tho. IG: @trail_goat *it was 3 miles for me because I parked at the very end of the road *

This one was harder than I thought. Seems to be multiple options to get to waterfalls and kind underwhelming but a great workout.

This trail was a great challenge for a speed run. Rapidly going through the riverbed provided a "make your own path" tone. The 2.5 mile dirt road was easy to run.

Beautiful trail by a creek with options for some scrambling and easy climbing with trail-provided ropes. Shade and sun.

A day fun day hike with the friends. The reasons I rated this trail at three stars was for multiple reasons. 1. The trail was littered with plastic water bottles, granola bar wrappers, and various other trash. 2. The rocks were spray painted throughout the rocky part of the trail with graffiti. I have never seen a trail with more graffiti and trash on it. 3. There were multiple locations where I had to step over human feces just to continue on with the trail. 4. The second half (rocky part) of the hike was overgrown, and poorly taken care of. At times it was difficult finding where the trail lead. The waterfall at the end of the hike was rewarding, and was a great spot to rest and take photos. The water was nice and cool. Unfortunately this area too was hit with graffiti on the rocks. This was an okay hike, and one to add to the list of completed, but I wouldn’t hike it a second time.

This is a really fun trail. Consistent incline on the way up. You can continue all the way to Mariposa Reserve and an old Native American site. Be wary of poison oak, specifically at the base of the trailhead where many hikers head towards the Blackstar falls. I wasn’t so careful - learn from my mistake and enjoy!

I liked it very much. Very good hike. I tired to go the further hike beside the water fall. I went to the top but my friend couldn’t do it so, I came back. It will be lot’s of fun if you get chance to go the further hike beside water fall.

Great trail. Get there early as it will be packed! We got there at 7:30 and there were already a good amount of people by the time we were walking back at around 11am the parking lot was so crowded. Would probably take you twice as long to get to the falls with that many people on the trail. I dont recommend bringing a large dog unless you are ready to carry it over a ton of boulders. Also, my car was broken into and someone took all my credit cards. Dont leave valuables in the car.

A gun hike with bouldering and a waterfall at the end. To avoid crowds, arrive early or you’ll have to wait behind the slower crowd.

This trail is rated hard. I found it to be moderate. Not a ton of incline but the fauna was beautiful!! The hike to the waterfall was so worth the end result. There is a lot of climbing over boulders and trouncing across the creek bed. I loved it! It was however crowded and there was quite a bit of graffiti.

did this for the first time today, wrong weekend for this. usually avoid weekend hikes but only time could take my daughter. ridiculously busy, at least 40 people at the waterfall and multiple backups on the trail despite various routes to follow. too much trash left behind by hikers, water bottles, mcds cups, etc... falls and caves were very cool though but don't expect to go again, at least not on a weekend. saw a family ride in on the fire road and park at the single track trail head, great idea cause the fire road back to the car seemed twice as long and no shade on the way back to the car as it warmed up.

Such a great, challenging hike! I love taking my dogs on hikes but I’m glad I left them at home for this one. A lot of scrambling through the rocks and through the water. The waterfall at the end is beautiful!

Dog friendly until the final 1.5 miles then it’s huge boulders you have to assist/carry dogs. But nice water fall and pool in the end!

2H till the divide, went 4H and had no difficulties going on this trail. Started out near Tom’s Place & ended up at Santiago Canyon Peak. Came back down the mountain and went left past the “off road playground” and came out at Silverado canyon road.

This trail had some very difficult bouldering but I made it up (1 1/2 year old lab). It was very crowded even though we started before 7:30 AM and I had a hard time waiting when the trail got backed up, even though it was fun to play in the water. Next time I’ll definitely come back during the week and not Memorial Day weekend.
