this trail is beautiful! it's one of my favorites & is doable by beginner hikers.

really enjoyable trail, low traffic

I did this hike 3 times this year. Once in the spring (April), once in early summer (June), and once recently in November. It is one of my favorite hikes in Sequoia. Not very difficult at all. A beautiful forest stroll next to a creek with an epic payoff at the end. It was best for me in June after the snow had melted, the wildflowers were in bloom, and the waterfall was roaring.

Just did hiking today. Beautiful place it’s cooler and shaded Rocky Mountain at the end, creek is low in water but it’s not big deal... overall total ... love the place

Beautiful hike! Rocky at the end. Not much water in the falls but beautiful just the same. No bears though, disappointed about that.

Beautiful trail. Winds along the river through a canyon, so nice views throughout. The falls were nearly dry when we went on Oct. 30, but it was still a great hike, not too difficult at all. Definitely recommend.

Shaded and perfect mid 40s weather. Ice at the bottom of the falls. Barely any water, but still beautiful and easy walk

Great easy day hike, beautiful scenery.

Hardly any water but had the trail to ourselves

The trail was beautiful! If you choose the watchtower route, you get views of the watchtower and canyon. The uphill is gradual for the most part and shaded for a majority of it. Emerald lake is at the base of some cliffs so if you are wanting sunlight while you are there, make sure you get there before late afternoon. You also get views of Aster lake on your way down to Emerald. If anything, at least hike to that view.

nice, easy trail. will be back in the spring to extend to the top of ridge

Oct 18 2019 Completed this great hike with my 2 and 8yr old. Waterfal was minimal but the scenic hike was so enjoyable and worth it! Very well maintained and easy hike.

This was a great hike! I went with my husband and 3 boys (aged 8, 4, and 2). The Boyd were able to keep up and had so much fun.

Great hike, shady. Our 3 year old enjoyed the hike and was able to complete the hike. It can get a little hot for the last 1/4 mile when the trail moves up onto the north side of the canyon wall just before reaching the falls. There are refreshing stops to get close to the stream along the way.

Easy/moderate trail, beautiful views along the way. Just follow the trail and you should be okay. It gets shady in some areas, but the surrounding is gorgeous. There are beautiful meadows of what’s left of this seasons wild flowers. Nice spots to hang out by some water. The best part is when you get to the rocks at the top. Make sure your wearing a good pair of hiking/comfortable shoes. The trail goes on a little longer if you want to go further. That’s the only reason I say it can become moderate. Perfect weather for October.

Great hike. Go early and in spring. October the falls were more of a sprinkle. Great scenery. Short hike.

Gorgeous but busy! We saw a bear!

Great hike on the easy side along a river. The waterfall was still running a little in October.

Beautiful trail. The day we went there were prescribed burns in the general area so there was a light hazy of smoke obstructing the cliffs. We could make them out, but only barely. Even from the impression we got through the haze, we were awestruck by the surroundings. We will be back to see it again on a clear day!

This hike is easy and relatively flat. We saw a few groups of people until we got closer to Sherman where it was unsurprisingly mobbed. The trail itself wasn't anything spectacular and is boring in most spots but there is a stream that you can sit next to which was very nice. I'm not sure I'd do it again.

Not much water in the falls

I have done this 3 times pretty cool all 3 times I saw bears on the trail one time a snake.

nice trail fairly easy to slightly moderate towards the end. amazing end with the waterfall. went September so it was really refreshing weather cold water .. would do again.

Parked in the campground. Beautiful alpine scenery, well-marked trail, and lovely waterfall at the end.

Great hike... very gradual slope. Took 3 kids, 9, 8 and 6... perfect for kids..
