I completed this in 6 hours.
really tough . bring alot of water . bring food.
almost gave up on the last 2 miles.
no joke.
This is wayyy more tougher than the one in altadena .
alot of incline.

Left at 8:am in June. Recommend starting earlier. Parking great on weekday. First 1.8 mi extremely hard if start counter clockwise. Highly recommend counter clockwise since can’t imagine going down that steep of grade. When going up steep grade pay attention to route since don’t want to get stuck on loose gravel and start sliding. Once you get to top you go all the way down again on Beaudry South Trail. You go all the way up again and that is it for major ascents.

Hiking in summer at least 3 liters of water and a hat- very important. For easy hydration I make hibiscus tea with refreshing mint tea. Very drinkable with a little caffeine, lots of ice to keep colder longer.

Note: I was only female out on this hike. Everyone friendly. Saw no snakes. Did see deer.

Much easier on a cooler day. I attempted it once on what it felt like 160 degrees day and had to give up. Not to much shade. Only about first 2 miles are hard. It gets quite easy after that.

This is a challenging trail - it has multiple sections of uphill/downhills and is very long. A significant portion of the trail has been bulldozed to stop the fires - definitely take hiking polls because the loose soil under your feet makes it pretty dangerous and difficult to hike ! Almost all of the trail is exposed to direct sun so sunscreen and hat will help you a lot. All and all it’s a great trail for advance hikers ...
