The ascent was rough for me. But worth the view!!

Gorgeous views....steep but short and well worth the climb!

I feel like this trail was pretty moderate. If you aren’t use to hiking up pretty steep inclines, this hike may not be for you. Make sure you don’t miss the Wolf Ridge trail head. Heading up near Hill 88 had me distracted and I never saw it. If you hit the graffiti then head back down the hill and look to your right for the trail head.

Dear older children who are being dragged here, it's all up hill (very pretty) but wear your Nikes and your work out clothes and a hat (for the wind, very windy, very). Feels much longer than a mile, you'll have a story for sure!!! Take your pictures before the hike, trust me.

Easy trail, lots of parking right near the beach.

The trail is mostly fire roads with a short section on stairs. There are several areas that have been rerouted because of closures.

The eastern half coming down from Hill 88 is slightly boring as there aren’t many views and you can’t see the beach. There were several Batteries and other historic things to see along the way.

Amazing views! One of the top views in the entire bay area in my opinion. The hike is steep the entire way but totally doable. I took my 2 year old and had to carry most of the way. Definitely take pics when you get to the top you will be looking down on the Golden Gate, SF and Angel Island

Nice and easy hike, beautiful views.

Great hike done a long time ago. It was done in the spring and was very cool and windy. Awesome...

Strenuous but so incredibly satisfying. There are some whale bones at Tennessee Beach. Pretty cool!

This is a very well maintained trail that has amazing views of the ocean. Take the Pirates Cove Trail if you like seeing the ocean.

Windy, so bring a windbreaker.

Good close to SF exercise hike with good Pacific views.

Easy walk down to the beach. You can book to camp there too. Finding parking on top was a pain since there’s very limited space. There was no swing when I went.

Great hike!! I’ve done it twice now and love it for a solid work out. Be aware that it’s actually 6.6 miles roundtrip, not 5.3. Also, the first 2-3 miles on the way back from Muir beach is almost entirely up hill... something to keep in mind. Highly recommend if you want a good work out.

We are tied to hikes that allow dogs. We are running out of places but happy to find this trail. Coming from the East Bay in Walnut Creek it was very pleasant to have a sea breeze and a touch of fog. Not the typical trail found in the east bay. We loved it. Only managed 3 miles but a nice get away from home.
Lots of birds, brown pelicans are abundant here.

Great loop with a nice stopover on hill 88. Takes 2-3 hours with leisurely pace.

Really enjoyed the first 2/3 of this trail... the steady ascent up the Miwok worked our lungs but didn’t overwhelm us, and the views as we picked up the Coastal were lovely (we were lucky enough to get a fog-free, sunny day). We were tired and cut over back to the parking spot along the Lagoon trail instead of going down to the point, will have to check that out next time.

Great two hour hike with incredible views of the bay at the top. Took a detour to check out the houses on Wolfback Ridge, and another to take in the stellar view at the little cutoff in the middle of the SCA trail. Don’t miss that one! Note that the map is wrong, there’s no Julian Trail from Bunker Road to Rodeo Valley Trail. Looks like it never even existed either.

The spectacular views are muted by having to walk along the road for half the trail. Don’t park where the map indicates - you have to walk along the highway to get to the trailhead. Park on Conzelman Road. There are a bunch of turnouts on the road. It’s also very crowded along sections. I prefer true hikes that don’t involve highways.

I accessed Upper Fisherman's Trail from the Coastal Trail at the top of Conzelman Road. There are 296 steps down to the road where you access the rest of the trail to the beach. Some great views and the steps are a quick workout. The trail map showing 0.5mi is not quite right as the rest of the trail to the top is not included. Great trail, doesn't take much time, but good to be in shape for the ascent!

Great hike to a great viewpoint. It's essentially walking up a very steep road to a wide, flat viewpoint above the Marin Headlands. Great views of the GGB, Kirby Cove, Fort Baker, Mt. Tam, and much more remote than the throngs you get down on the Battery Spencer trail. Don't miss this; stop at small gravel parking area next to the round about at the intersection of Conzelman and McCullough, and hike down through the bushes and across the road at the gate. From there it's all uphill. View is definitely worth the effort.

Great hike for lots of variety to keep kids entertained.

Short steep hike that has a rewarding finish! Beautiful views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge

Very strenuous hike with beautiful views! Bring lots of water, a windbreaker, and high protein food.

The bottom part of this “hike” is a confusing mixture of parking lots and unmarked segments of “trail” some of which join up with each other, some of which just wander off and dead end. If you, like me, hike to get out in nature and away from people, don’t bother with the bottom third of the trail. Park near rodeo beach and go from there. If you’re looking for the scenic, tourist spots then that’s ok too and the bottom third of the hike will be perfect for you. Once you get out of the crowds, this trail is stunning, even on foggy days.

Nice hike along the coast with beautiful ocean views. I started at Rodeo Beach, hiked up hill 88, through the Tennessee Valley to Muir Beach, to the Organic Farm, over to Tennessee Beach and then back to Rodeo Beach. 14 miles and 3,600 feet of elevation gain.

Just had a little time in the morning so we just did the coastal trail out to the lookout point and then back and up to the batteries. Very pretty, cool history with the batteries. Love the west coast shoreline.

Easy family hike around the rodeo lagoon - half of it next to the parking lot / road but the rest is beautiful and rodeo is a great beach to spend the day and relax. Some nice little coves to the left to explore too

Great short hike with beautiful vistas of the ocean and the headlands. Best to go during the warm part of the day due to the typical windy conditions.

Extended trail loop: clockwise from Rodeo Lagoon, 8.5 miles, 1400 ft elevation, 3 hours 4 minutes .

The hike started off subtle. We were hiking on flat gravel then the trail began to incline & it became more steeper the further we went. The view was beautiful. I brought binoculars & go to see a deer. Make sure you bring lots of water. I enjoyed it I would go back !
