God hike! Lots of up hill/down hill, but the view at the top is great!

Really loved this trail. Beautiful scenery, big views.

Such a great place to day hike. has some steep parts, but are short. lots of up and down. great views all around. yes cattle roaming on and near the trail, no fencing, so be careful. very fun.

Nice and relaxing.

I went May 2018 and there was no water in the creek or very little water in the creek. The trail is overgrown if you could even call it a trail but if you’re willing to go down the Rocky Creek bed it is some of the most amazing views. It is worth the trip but don’t do it alone like I did.

just beautiful. saw dozens of cows and 4 coyotes. dogs loved it!

This trail has great variety of terrain and is very pretty throughout. We saw a healthy, full grown coyote, too.

Absolutely the best hike ever! Finally, something much more than a workout!

Very magical trail. Mother nature loves showing off in here! Take pants, long sleeve and grip gloves. Went in April and there were loads of poison oak, poison Ivy & thorny bushes.

Beautiful trail! A bit steep in areas but a good workout. Wasn't sure I'd like how open it was but it was actually really nice. Got pretty close to the cows and there was a fox hanging out with them. We always enjoy seeing wildlife on our hikes. Oh and a tree decided to lose a very large branch as we were walking by, the was exticing!

Definitely my kind of hike. If you’re up for a challenge, look no further. I did it last year after the great rainy season we had and The falls were flowing, this time it was just a trickle, but still a great hike. Non slippery shoes a must for this hike as you will be bouldering most of the way!

If you are an experienced hiker, don’t pay much attention to the negative reviews here. While this is a difficult route, it is not impassable. Find your own way down and through the gorge. Take your time maneuvering through and around the vegetation, boulders, and steep terrain. Your effort and patience will be rewarded with some spectacular waterfalls (during a wet season) along this remarkable section of the upper San Diego River Gorge.

Gorgeous hike! Rolling hills & valleys make it so peaceful. A great challenge of ups & downs.

Beautiful scenery, a lot of inclines in both directions.

Multiple trails offer loops of various length and difficulty, most of which are short and steep. Great views from nearly everywhere, especially on the summit. Conveniently located right off the highway, definitely worth a stop.

Tried this hike out earlier today with my husband and 18 year old daughter and it was a 10/10. Pleasantly strenuous, lots of variation in elevation, soul-calming quiet, gorgeous scenery...and cows.

Beautiful trail and very peaceful. You will work your thighs and gluts, but it is worth it

This was one of the easiest hikes I've done lately. The views of the gorge were beautiful, the boulders available for some extra fun were easily climbable - great time rock hopping and bird watching but to call it a "hike" is a stretch. Easy way to kill 45-50 minutes but also some great spots to post up and read a book for the afternoon.

Gorgeous trail - lots of cows and peaceful during a weekday day.

Easy scenic walk.

Dec 22nd. It was cold, very windy around 3:45pm, lots of cows, lots of poop... nonetheless a beautiful experience. If you find yourself walking towards a metal corral with a much larger than average amount of cow poop around you, stay towards the right of the coral. The trail is a touch washed out around here.

Great hike -steep at times and beautiful always

Love this trail. It will catch you off guard with its steep hills and roaming cattle. But the hike is gorgeous all the way

actually hiked from Santa Isabel Preserve East. Nice trail up to the plateau where the trail comes down from Farmer Rd. near Julian. logged 8.1 miles with 1800 feet elevation gain.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TRAIL!! 6 of us went today and we are all experienced Hikers . There is no trail to follow due to the very over grown vegetation.

Fun, short little jaunt. Some definite ups & downs, but tons of shady spots to rest and very amiable company

About a mile in you hit the private property of Vista Irrigation District. Also, the day I went, utility crews were working on the transmission power line poles and helicopters were helping. NOT peaceful at all.

The trail needs to be trimmed in some spots and has some steep areas. I wouldn't recommend for anyone who wants to bring a stroller. beautiful views though for such a small hiking trail.
