Beautiful view of Santa Rosa, can’t beat it at sunset.

I love this trail it's so nice to get off of work at 4 and be able to head up for a quick and decent hike. would recommend to anyone!

all the park had to offer was the view from the top! not worth $7.00 to park should be free

Beautiful views looking at the hills and mountains in the distance. Also amazing views of the city, always cool wildlife to watch like turkeys, skunks, hawks, slugs, etc. cows are also on premises and don’t mess with you. Pupper and I love going for our daily hikes here, there are multiple trails some harder than the other but also some moderate ones. Definitely recommend!

Great loop to run :)

It is steep in some spots but overall a great hike and workout! Got to the top and it was an amazing view! Great workout for my dog too.

Did this hike 2 years ago with my wife and her fam. Gunsite is worth it for the view. I’m in decent shape and didn’t really have any trouble with it.

Nice invigorating hiking trail with lots of birds and other wildlife. Can be slick in spots after rain.

A wonderful hike, so close to Santa Rosa, but you quickly forget you are near the city. Great views, good hardy climb. Bring binoculars or a telephoto lens to capture good views of the birds.

A bit of an extra walk from Howarth Parking lot. Make time

Very nice walk, I walk on the dirt outer trails. Great for dogs and bikes. I go almost everyday and it gets better every time.

Love this trail. Perfect for cardio and the perfect distance.

We took a family day hike/ walk today. There are plenty of different trails to go on. Most is paved roads and some dirt trails off the beaten path. We went through the Howarth Park parking area and did the Spring Lake Loop in addition to a little section in Annadel Park. It’s really easy and you of course see a lake. Lots of people and bikes. So there is a lot of traffic. Lots of picnic areas. You could also bring your canoe or motor-less boat and paddle around the lake.

I used to live in RP and I loved this trail. Good and steep for cardio and glutes and I enjoyed seeing cows and picking blackberries in the summer. Never crowded, great views and free parking near the frisbee course

Only did short walk from Stony Point Road to Doubles Drive. Not worth walk except from point A to point B. Very noisy (highway 12), a few transients, nothing to view. Suspect a bike ride would be better as it a reasonable length. Asphalt pathway.

Good walking trail on north and south side of creek between Fulton Road and Willowside Road. South side is hard-packed gravel. North side is asphalt. South side had wild turkeys and grapes. North side has good view of Santa Rosa hills and grapes. Very pleasant walk.

Shaded much of the way, which I love. Panoramic views from Gunsight Rock. The Summit isn't what makes this worth it - it's definitely the overlook at Gunsight!

Flat level trail through West Santa Rosa. Some views are pretty seedy and homeless camps on the side of the trail. It used to be a nice trail but more like hobo row...head further to the west..more scenic and less city filth.

One of the nicer hikes in santa rosa and not too far from downtown. There is a couple of spots where it gets steep, but you can take it slow. Otherwise mostly wide path and nice views when you get to the top.

Great hike to bring your dog!

Great workout- took eastern trail up, steep. Nice views of town but overall pretty dry surroundings with almost no tree cover the whole way makes for a less enjoyable hike compared to others. Limited free parking along the road outside the parking lot.

Got here around 7:30am on a Sunday morning on the Pythiann Trail. Hiked to Gunsight Rock in about 1 hour and 30 min with my party. We took plenty of break due to the inclines. The inclines are tough if you are not used to pain but doable. The way back was alot easier. One thing that makes this trip worth it is if you see San Francisco in the distance. We did not see SF on this day due to the cloudy distance. Overall, I would hike this again just to see SF.

Great hike cant see San Francisco perfectly but still a beautiful view. Make sure to bring lots of water even if you have to take a heavy bag. Also, the end towards to view is very very steep. Manageable but very hard so shows with good traction is important.

Also you gotta pay for parking ;)

Nice connection for a bike ride between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. Prefer to take Santa Rosa creek trail to Fulton before hopping on the Joe rodota trail, as the section of Joe rodota closer to Sebastopol is more scenic.

Nice hike with some good views. We took the western trail up and on the way down. There isn't much tree cover so I would recommend starting somewhat early or on a cool day. The Alltrails app said it was 4.8 miles from the lower parking lot to the top and back.

I took off work a little early on Friday, and went from Pythian Road trailhead to Gunsight Rock. It had been years since I had done this walk, so I was a little intimidated - hahaa! Although there were a few steep stretches, most of the uphill was gradual. The view from Gunsight Rock is gorgeous!

Kicks your butt, but gorgeous from the top
