This is an OK hike. I would highly recommend taking a right at the very end and hiking the peak loop. It adds a considerable amount of vertical to the hike and makes for great views. Be mindful of the cows; this trail is not hiked that often so the cows aren’t as acclimated to humans. Much more aggressive/unpredictable than usual. Expect dry and exposed conditions so come early in the morning or late in the evening.

Rolling grass and wildflower covered hills with a few strenuous up and down hill sections. No water on trail or in park, so bring plenty. Can go from sunny and dry to cloudy and muggy quickly, so dress prepared for both. Gorgeous wildflowers this time of year (Late March). Keep an eye out for a kind of moody herd of cows and keep your distance. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. There’s rarely much traffic here.

We did the hike with three kids ranging from 14-8. All pretty experienced hikers. They enjoyed it quite a bit and felt sufficiently challenged.

This was my first time going hiking at this park and i absolutely ended up hating it. Never again. The trails are completely overgrown and the signs aren't up to date. Had to double-back a few times because halfway down one of the trails, we hit a dead end even though thats where the sign pointed to. there are any markers for extremely long periods of time to help you get your bearings. if that wasn't bad enough, they are SO MANY COWS because the fence has been knocked down, it would not be so bad if you could just walk by/around them bht these animals were very VERY agressive even when trying to walk by them from a great distance. got a really bug scare when one charged at us over the trampled fence. Views were really nice at times but not worth the struggle AT ALL. They need to put way more time into maintaining the trails visible and updating markers. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!

Nice hiking. Not too hard. The trail disappears after Spike Peak. We used the app to stay on track. Worked perfect.

A great little day hike for you and the entire family! Because of the terrain there is little shade, so it is a very hot hike during the summer. At times you follow a horse trail. There are bathrooms at the beginning of the trail.

No forest at all. Just cow pasture land and a few trees here and there. You can see some nice views but don't expect much else.

I would not suggest this trail during summer time or during any hot weather. Some very good elevation changes. Bring water.
