Its overall a nice drive. It was a bit sad on my part because i choose this trail for the offroad portion but the first ten miles of it are on pavement leaving about three offroad.

DNC UNDERWATER The lake is too high . You can walk the beach but you'll be walking through Grass climbing over rocks boulders etc. there's a high road but no trespassing signs. confirmed with ranger that it was private property.

Challenging for short trail The trail goes: Established dirt/rock road Narrow grass maze Beach(rocks) Steep trek Uphill through tall grass(unestablished) Nice views Free Parking No shade Swimming(PFL) Unestablished (last 500ft.+/-,at the opening in the fence go right NOT left) No restrooms Brown foothills No bugs Not to be done with small kids I liked this one, nice little challenge if you don't mind stickers and walking on rocks. Definitely wouldn't do with my 3yo. Didn't see any snakes but it was very snakey in spots. I would recommend doing backwards(take entry point to the right.) -DB

if You take the Trimmer springs rd north, road may split several times, you may end up on tollhouse hw168 towards Shaver lake. this road have a nice creek next to it. this road is usually used by gunners to practice their shots.

$5 Empty week days TRASH Short drive No trailhead sign People fishing Kings People swimming in Avacado Water not super dirty No mosquito bites You can pretty much park anywhere and walk around the lake and it will be close to the red line on app. Nicest part on far side, runs between Avacado and Kings River on the back side. -DB -JB -KB

Just a calm stroll around the lake, don’t need much. Too Packed in the warmer months.

If you are in the area and just need to stretch your legs this will do but it's definitely not a destination.

Trail was not well marked. You need to take the upper part of the trail to and from. Do not take the full loop. Definitely need gators too. Just plain dumb luck we didn’t come across snakes on the unmarked portion of the trail.

Ok park for BBQ and fishing. nothing special.

loved this trail. easy and beautiful

Great view of Pine Flat Lake. It's a nice, easy hike. Not much to it, though.

The way out begins on a service road then turns into a narrower trail that leads to a bench with good views. The way back along the lakeside (if you choose to do the loop) is very hard to follow due to overgrowth. Not to difficult, but there is a dozen or so fallen trees on the trail you'll need to climb over.

Recommend in the spring or fall when there is not many people visiting.

Truly a hidden gem within Fresno County. From start to finish, the entirety Trail was well worth the $5 entry. If you like this trail, go a mile or so down the road to Winton Park, the view along the King River gets even more majestic!

4 stars for ease of getting there, views and getting to see my most favorite wildflower: Mariposa lily! This rating is not for the hike since it's more of a stroll.

We walked the old road around the lake and near the river. The river is beautiful, the lake is alright. The park is in disrepair, but with nice weather, it’s a good little walk. The park was technically closed, but everyone parked outside the gate and walked in.

Beautiful setting but Trail is not well maintained. Fallen trees and overgrowth causes one to depend on their sense of direction. Also not a great trail for dogs. Lots of high grass, fox tails and ticks. Never been bit but the dogs have had several :(

As the two star rating says, “Meh” and that’s about it.

Don’t bring your dog on this hike!!! Foxtails everywhere! I had to carry my dog the entire time. Also, the trail is very narrow and there was trees that covered the trail in case you lose it.
