Nice views and many different bird species to admire. Also nice creek you can walk along

Start from the Bay, and go South.
8 mile loop, very nice.
Pretty smooth except for crossing under the busy roads.

This is a stroller friendly stroll alongside a pretty shaded creek.

For being so close to town, this is a great day hike area. I adored the scene of California poppies sprinkled throughout the rock outcroppings that were painted orange with lichen. There is a nice view of San Jose atop the ridge line. The ridge gets windy, bring a shell or light jacket.

It was a very good experience, with two kids a 2yer old and a 3yer old, it was a nice View from the top and the trail itself it’s clean and well-maintained

This is my first time hiking around Morgan Hill and this is totally worth it! We hiked right after the rain so everything was so green. We got to see wild animals along the ways. Please note the best time to go is spring or Fall.

Beautiful place. Loved it

Terrible! Dirty with trash everywhere. Homeless camping everywhere with the associated mess and stench. In spots the trail flips from one side of the river to the other, necessitating crossing of busy streets. This trail should be used as a last resort only.

I love the park itself more than this one trail.

I’ve gone the whole way on this trail a couple of times. But plenty of times just within the San Jose area. The scenery is very nice. Plenty of shady areas to stop and rest that aren’t too far apart from each other. Trail mostly follows along the 101 freeway between Morgan Hill and San Jose. A couple of mildly difficult inclines but otherwise very manageable. Enjoyed many times within San Jose with my family.

Real nice from Hellyer County Park and south. Do not go or park north of Hellyer park, as there are nothing but homeless camps, garbage, thugs, and people who look like they’re looking for trouble. A real sanitation nightmare, too. Think twice before bringing a family member who you care about in this section.

Beautiful view- I try to go during times when there’s less people. I’ve had the top to myself many times and love the adventure up!

The trail was closed partly, which was a bummer. But, the parts that were open were pretty nice. It was crowded.

South of Metcalf road, only saw a dozen or so people, was a nice walk in the sunshine!

easy trail along the creek. signs could be better

It was a nice day hiking. We had a good day and it was a big fun. This trail is good for any age to try. Have fun and be safe to anyone plan to go hike there. Don’t forget bringing water bottles.

Beautiful trail and managed well with a baby in the stroller and a toddler on foot. Also had my mom who uses a cane with me. Will be back!

The trail was closed after 0.8 miles as of 01-14-18.

Spectacular city views ...

surrounding area is super sketchy... felt uneasy leaving my car there so I didn't get to experience the full trail

More like a concrete jungle rather than a nature trail. Dirty and underpasses with remnants of homeless people. Not a fun trail at all. Surprised people rated it as high as they did. Disappointed.

A beautiful trail to nurture the soul and exercise the body just in our backyard!

Easy one

Dirty trail with no water and lots of homeless encampments that make the user feel less than secure. Only pro is the trail utilizes a lot of underpasses that enables a continuous run with no stops for traffic.

I run part of this trail every Saturday for the last 2 years. The trail is well kept, clean, shaded and pleasant year round. If anything, I hope they install more water fountains along the trail. There are two that I know of: one near Hellyer Park, and another. Near the 85 freeway.

The trail is nice but the surrounding area is super sketchy. Lots of tent cities and crazy homeless people along the trail and parking area. I did not feel safe here.

It’s a nice shaded trail that follows the creek. The creek has fish and leads up to mineral springs. We saw deer and hawks along the way!

Decent trail for commute to work. Rose garden is a nice detour if you feel so inclined. Monopoly in the park is interesting.
