The ascend was beautiful, shady and calm. Lovely hike for mornings. Park has two free parking lots and you get a spot if you are inside by 10.30am. You will have to walk a mile from the parking lot to reach the trail head.

Good loop trail for those seeking a bit of exercise or for hikers looking to get tuned up after winter. Outside of the first mile it's an easy stroll although in the middle of summer you probably want to start early as it get's unbearably hot mid-day.

People complaining about to this park, just a bunch of whiners. There's no resaon to post review as a 3 *** or 2 park. This is an AMAZING place to hang around with family and friends. Live to the fullest people!

Pleasant shady hike. Nice to be by the creek and then get some elevation after the switchbacks and see a great view of San Jose.

Great easy trails through a grove of oak trees in the middle of a residential area off Coleman in Almaden. There are a couple hilly trails for uphill hiking. Lots of wildlife and a beautiful forest . It’s fairly small but you can customize your own loops.

My favorite trail, been doing this trail 2x a week for over a year and periodically for over 10 years. It’s moderately challenging, has a very steep hill at the beginning, it’s a killer for first timers. This is the hardest part of the hike. It takes about 1 1/2 hours at a moderate pace. We usually do this loop between an hour and hour and 1/2 depending if we feel like running.

It’s is also very sunny and hot on this hill in the summer. The trail is mostly sunny with a few tree canopies that provide much needed shade. There are a few path variations on the trail to make the hike shorter or longer.

Beautiful flowers in the spring. A lot of wildlife in the evenings near dusk. I have seen a bobcat 2x, mountain lion, a boar, scorpion, many, many deer and wild turkeys. During the day, few wildlife sightings.

It’s a nice trail especially If you are not used to do a lot. It’s considered as moderate but l would say it’s an easy to light moderate trail. Great for families with kids who want to do more than just a walk. Nice view on the valley, 75% of the trail is under the trees canopy. You will love it during summertime .

Beatiful

I was a little underwhelmed by this trail. It’s really long and flat. The scenery is fairly consistent. I dunno, just felt a bit boring.

HACIENDA TRAIL is great- Just difficult enough but mainly a good hike! Combination of sunny and shade! Did get warned about a rattle snake sighting but just keep eyes and ears open.

Lots of pretty wild flowers right now. Hiking is along a dirt road. Lots of branching paths make choosing different lengths easy.

Good for hiking

Semi challenging hike with some hills, but nothing too intense. Mostly shaded and dog friendly. Will have to park in the residential area, however parking was not too hard to find. Trail signs could have been a little better, but if you follow the crowd you should be good.

Great trail with combination steep then less steep type terrain and lots of trees. I have been there just three times in the spring and each time saw many species of wild flowers. Saw a small Ringed Neck Snake and and a Rattlesnake that was about 26” long. It gets natural cooling along the short creek section and has more shaded areas than most trails in south county.

The trail map is wrong

Start from the Bay, and go South.
8 mile loop, very nice.
Pretty smooth except for crossing under the busy roads.

Take the Penitencia Trail first and hook up to this trail up to Eagle Rock. There are beautiful meadows of mustard flowers carpeting the hills in Spring.

This is a stroller friendly stroll alongside a pretty shaded creek.

For being so close to town, this is a great day hike area. I adored the scene of California poppies sprinkled throughout the rock outcroppings that were painted orange with lichen. There is a nice view of San Jose atop the ridge line. The ridge gets windy, bring a shell or light jacket.

Nice hike spot with ample parking.

It was a very good experience, with two kids a 2yer old and a 3yer old, it was a nice View from the top and the trail itself it’s clean and well-maintained

This is my first time hiking around Morgan Hill and this is totally worth it! We hiked right after the rain so everything was so green. We got to see wild animals along the ways. Please note the best time to go is spring or Fall.

Moderate hike, gain ~1600 feet elevation, 8.2 Miles, many beautiful wild flowers along the way up to Bald Peak. Breathtaking views when you are at top. Bring at least 2 litters of water and lunch/snacks. Nice, clean trail with some shades.

Beautiful place. Loved it

This has become my favorite trail the blaze whether rain, hail or shine

Terrible! Dirty with trash everywhere. Homeless camping everywhere with the associated mess and stench. In spots the trail flips from one side of the river to the other, necessitating crossing of busy streets. This trail should be used as a last resort only.
