Nice kid friendly trail.

Went with my family (easy for a young kid) and observed lots of plants and birds. seems like an extension on the botanical gardens with all the flora to be seen. Saw a number of waterfowl (Canada geese, mallards, great blue herons, night herons...). A fair number of people on the paths as well. Easy street parking right next to the outer path. The ducks are very used to people and expect to be fed (which we didn't - please don't feed the ducks, for their own good!)

Absolutely unbeatable views. The area is incredibly rundown and sketchy, would only recommend when lots of people are present. In a few years this will be a full trail that goes the perimeter of the island. Parking is easy once you find it, less than ideal signage because of all of the construction and closed roads.

Completed the loop today. Signage wasn’t particularly good and the app wasn’t helpful. Nonetheless some of the trail spots are absolutely beautiful. But the sections next to and on the roads not as much.

A little bit hard to be always on trail. Would not be a problem for hiking but for running yes.

This is the Disneyland for dogs. It’s an absolutely amazing and magical place. I love it my dog loves it and it is one of our absolute favorite places.

The first part of this hike was random and somewhat sketchy. I enjoyed the walk by Mission Bay and back through the Dogpatch. I usually like Urban Hikes and it was nice to see a different perspective of the bay... but I would not do this again. Some parts of the trail are also cut off due to construction.

Absolutely beautiful hike. Extremely peaceful. The ocean right beside you makes it more amazing. Not very difficult and paved.

This spot was really nice. Kinda busy it’s an easy hike. Parking was hard to find.

Great view at the top and the lake at the bottom

My (almost) 5 year old daughter and I have been hiking Bernal Heights Park since she was 2 and explored almost every bit of the hill. There are often many people (and their dogs) on the service road and the summit, but we have found many somewhat hidden, small trails around the perimeter of the park. There are several trails appropriate for differently agreed kids. Lots of little places to explore and nature to be seen. Coyotes and birds of prey make occasional appearances. We're very glad to have this neighborhood resource during Shelter In Place! Oh yeah, lots of panoramic views, of course. Most of the eastern half of SF is visible, as well as much of the East Bay.

Fun trail!! If you follow the Coastal Ridge trail, you can go all the way down to batteries to bluff and Marshall beach!

Majestic! Marked as Easy but I would categorize it as Moderate. A lot of stairs up and down, so do it if you have a healthy heart and legs. The views of the Golden Gate Bridge are unforgettable. You even get to walk under it! Highly recommend! Kids as young as 6 should be fine.

Hard to follow but quite nice and cool. And perfect place to walk on a hot day.

It was bit confusing following along the trails as many other trails and roads collided with it. The red navigation guidance was a bit off and hard to follow.
