A lot of change in scenary and different lanscape. Waterfall was a little disappointing.

DOPE ASS TRAIL. Some parts are rocky but don't be little bitch about it. I ran and walked parts of it.

super easy trail. access to restrooms. wish the trail completed a loop around the lake. back side of trail is closed. still able to loop but only half way.

The first half mile is a brutal uphill not able to run due to the slope and loose rocks. It’s not bad on the way up but after your hike or run on the way back it’s very difficult.

Cool breezes and great views of SD Bay and Naval Station as you approach the end of the trail. Also some WWI & WWII historical sites along the way. Nice way to spend ~hour.

Great views of the ocean and a few sea caves!

One of the most beautiful places to climb down cliffs and explore small beaches

The beginning of the trail is the best part— it’s all uphill from there, lol.

Started from pio pico & ended at Alta rd. The gates were locked so I had to turn around. Talked to a border patrol agent about a mile back up the mountain. He offered to drive down to unlock the gate or I could go down into the canyon and try my luck in a prerunner Tacoma. I decided to do the trail. It is rwd friendly if you have a rear locker good a/t tires & enough ground clearance! Not gonna lie I didn’t think my two wheel drive would make it but it did

I did this hike a few years back when I was in excellent shape and remembered it as fairly easy. I went back last week with 3 friends (we started the 5 peak challenge) it was much harder than I remembered but very doable! A great way to spend a morning, definitely suggest going earlier in the day to avoid heat.

this is an amazing walk through San Diego. not only are the bridges fun to see and walk but I loved the architecture of the homes. There were many spanish homes side by side of victorians. there was even one home with a little free book stand with a chair to rest. Once you hit University ave. and stop for lunch I'm not gonna lie the rest isn't so great. Next time I might have a few drinks and uber back to the car. all in all I would do it again.

Very gradual Ascent as usual. Came down in the dark, 830-915pm. if going at night, suggest doing it with a second person. visibility is not good even with flashlights. heard coyotes close by, soft bats on the ground of the trail.

This is a beautiful trail, with a pretty stream and a few nice, big trees. Not a lot of shade, but you can find some. We saw an orange dragonfly and a little lizard. The trail itself was sort of “paved” with small, sharp rocks so definitely wear thick soled shoes.

Fun quick hike, good for kids and dogs. Some shade but mostly in the sun.

This was a great trail full of good altitude climbs and very well organized trail. I recommend going clockwise as well if it is your first time although be prepared for the stairs in the last third. I went through about 3 L of water as well. I only saw one rattlesnake along the entire way so keep an eye out. The day started cloudy but the second half was definitely sunny and getting warm. Great trail great camaraderie on the trail as well as it is moderately trafficked

Done. Forgot to time

Good dog friendly family trail. Good burn on the way up, with nice panoramic views at the top. As mentioned elsewhere there are loose rock sections so take it slow in those areas with little ones.

It was a good hike with lots of plant life to see even in the summer. There's no shade and the ground has a lot of loose rocks so make sure you come prepared.

This Trail will Jack you up if you’re trying to go trail running. If you’re just a casual hiker it’s difficult and you need to give this space to the mountain bikers. They will come around a corner at Mach Jesus with very little sound and very little reaction time. Keep your face up with headphones out and watch out for mountain bikers.

Wow.... I live 20 mins away and made the drive one early morning to check this hidden gem. So incredibly worth it! Private parking lot and greenery. Restrooms and water fountains . Tripple the size of most trails in my area. *bonus* so good for runners!!!!

Nice hike at night.

Nice for different kind of challenge- walk fast.

Short n’ Sweet. I hiked it today, next time I’ll be running it.

Easy wide trail. Great for beginners

Easy trail to hike. Usually we start this hike around 7:30 am and can go the entire hike without seeing anyone. Definitely picks up with number of people on trail if you start any later.
