We had received several inches of rain prior to this hike, the waterfall was amazing but we couldn’t get across, so instead of a loop we did a in and back hike. Great location and amazing views.

The trail is mostly moderate in difficulty. There are a couple areas that are steep. Pretty scenery. The interstate highway noise during part of the trail and high-voltage overhead transmission lines take away some from the peace of the trail.

Lots of mud and water too high to cross and make loop; but loved it.

Some shade, quite well maintained, good for dogs, a lot of bikes

$3 parking fee. Nice flat hike. Lots of mountain bikers on the trail but it is wide with plenty of room to pass.

It was my first time hiking this trail today and I was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful scenery and streams along the way to the waterfall:) One unique aspect of this trail is the memorial/grave for John Joseph Eichar (As a regular hiker, it was pretty rare to see that).I also don't see horses on trails too often, and I did see a few horse-back riders, so if you have a horse, go ahead and bring them. I just created this recent youtube video to help guide you along the trail:) Link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhPx1nqy4P4&feature=youtu.be

Good loop trail, rocky areas that make it slippery but also some nice flat ground. Not much shade. Couple trash cans and nice water view (can enter if desired and prepared)

I attempted to hike this trail this morning, even though it was in the high 60's, the weather was still very hot as it is all sun and very dry. We aborted our hike after about 3//4 mile in. We saw a lot of mountain bikers. Maybe another time of the year will be more pleasant.

Hard but fun!

My favorite trail in Fortuna. Hit the south first and get the stairs out of the way. Go early to beat the heat and brings lots of water. Once you hit north peak it’s pretty easy and downhill from there. Not much shade so bring sunscreen. There’s about 5 treks uphill so great cardio! Took me 2 hours walking briskly.

Beautiful hiking! Lots of shade and turn outs to be by the creek. Great for dogs!

Gorgeous retreat so close to everything. When you get down to the valley all the notices disappear and all you can hear is the river and waterfall. Lots of loose rocks and gravel so be careful

I really liked this trail, it was very rewarding to see the beautiful waterfall and stream. The hike to get the the waterfall is very pebbly . Overall the hike had nice prairie-vibes.

I walked/ran this hike today. Very confusing with multiple paths and poor markings on which trail to take. My phone died and I barely found my way out. Had to ask multiple people along my way back to find my way. Make sure you wear appropriate hiking trail shoes because very steep and slippery in many places.
