A couple weeks ago, I parked near the bottom and went running on up the paved road. There were so many Monarch butterflies everywhere.

I live about 5 minutes from this trail and it never gets old. great workout and super fun and technical downhill.

Best route for a bike is to ride up KP road and down the trail. Use a bell or even a whistle as there are a lot of hikers.

While generally down hill, it is an enduro run with more pedal strokes than you might imagine. there are some natural drops and jumps to be had and lots of teethe rattling rocky sections.

Despite the description, this is a legal mountain bike trail.

This trail is great for beginners. Very rocky at some points. The only thing I didnt like was all the bushes sticking out into the road. Got the side of my trucked scratched up pretty bad and it’s unavoidable. Also be careful lots of rattlesnakes

Awesome hike! Very scenic with fantastic views. Added bonus to see a deer on the trail! Lots of Chipmunks too.

Gradually inclines. Easy to find off the freeway. Views are amazing! Better then I expected. Wear good shoes and watch your step because some areas have a steep fall. No shade. Free parking. Had two rattlesnake "warning" encounters. Didn't see one though. Over all easy trail for all ages. Definitely will be going again.

Beautiful scenery and homes, nice walk. Park to left as you drive in and the walk along the fence towards the bay. Follow it around to the left and pick up the trail along the coast of the lake

Had a fun time running this trail in my 2WD locked 4runner. Took about half the off-shoots, turned around on a few but still had a blast. Seems there are two listings for this trail, Cleghorn Loop and Cleghorn Ridge.

pretty steep grade. had frye boots on so made it most of way up...it just kept going! only a lil parking along road across street from land trust/strawberry peaks sign & old adobe looking entrance gate/ wall...but only 1 other person was there when we parked. really scenic, went up twice as quick as descent, cuz dry & loose underfoot. way cool, beautiful!

This is a fun trail to be on. There a lot of off shoots to practice and learn how to off road but if you are not comfortable with that, then take the main trail. I did the trail in a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee with open diffs and the car handled the trail effortlessly. Also on the weekends the trail is kind of crowed so bear in mind that you may get stuck behind a group that takes up the whole trail.

Great trail. Perfect for our 5 and 6 year old daughters. They loved it.

Great Trail! Went up in a 2wd Taco, there are some pretty big ruts from the rain but they are pretty easily maneuverable. Further up the trail it gets pretty rocky so be sure to take it slow, especially if you don’t have a skid plate. It gets somewhat narrow so I did get scratched up a bit. :)

We couldn't find where to start. We were at where the map said but there was no where to park at all so we left.

this is a really great Trail perfect for beginner off-roaders like myself. Unfortunately because of the recent rains about a quarter of a mile into the trail there are several foot wide gashes that extend the width of the trail. my stock 4Runner was not able to continue past that point but I could easily see how if it weren't for those obstacles this would be a great beginner Trail. I plan on coming back once those obstacles are no longer there.

Great trail. Planning to come back.

on Tunnell Road to SawMill Loop

This trail is primarily a rocky rutted ATV/Jeep trail along a long ridge line though much if it is now blocked from traffic. There are some beautiful views of the mountains. Not a bad route for trail running.

I should have known that less than a week after a week or so of rain, this trail would not be "easy". 2018 FX4 leveled, I needed 4low and locker, just to turn around after less than 2 miles ... we helped a rubicon and an FJ dig out some ruts so they could continue... Maybe in a few weeks after others and the side by sides level the trail out, we will try again. Tread lightly. Peace.

Keller Peak, The Children's Forest, and The Exploration Trail, all seem to be the same trail. It's always lovely, peaceful, and scenic. Like everywhere in SoCal, it gets crowded at about 11am or noon. Mountain Bikers show up about that time, and that's when I usually leave. get there early.

Pretty nice trail just went yesterday. Some areas were a little washed out, definitely needed 4x4 in the big wash outs. Once you get to the top the trail gets pretty narrow I scratched my truck pretty good. Best thing is there was snow at the top. Super cool

fun trail but can get a little busy on the weekend. be mindful of oncoming traffic, don't go too fast. has side obstacles to try. it's fun to see all the jeeps do their thing.

Though the distance was long and incline was steady this was a fairly easy hike due to the wide dirt trail. The views were beautiful.

Quick hike with my boys.

This is a killer little hike. It is a work out that is worth the views!!!

A great family hike!!! Small kids can do this hike. Great views for sure. Always wanted to check out the lookout point but never had and so glad that I did.

This is a great hike if your looking for a good workout and have done the Heart Rock hike so many times that your looking for a good alternative. This hike starts at the trail head for Heart Rock but instead follow the paved service road up. The dirt trail begins when you hit the sewer plant it will be to the left. From there you go "UP". This is where the workout begins. Follow the trail all the way to Cedarpines Park. from there follow the roads out until you hit another dirt trail taking you the last little hike up. There you come to a large set of boulders, perfect to take a long earned rest. From there follow the paved road down until you hit a dirt road on the right. There you follow a ridge down with views of VOE. Just keep going until you came back from where you started.

This is a gorgeous drive that's not difficult for beginners. Beautiful views of the trees w/ Inland Empire on the south side (if there's no smog) and epic views of Silverwood Lake on the north side. If you want to continue north and get all the way through, this trail will connect and proceed down to Cleghorn Rd just west of the 138. Here's how. Near end of trail, take sharp right on 2n45 aka "North Spur," proceed downhill, take sharp left on 2n59 (west) and that road continues down to Cleghorn Rd. For double the fun, go left (north) on 138 for 1.5 miles and grab the west-bound Cleghorn Mountain Trail (2n47), which dumps out on Cleghorn Rd @ I-15. Great way to spend the day and safe for the kiddos.
