5 stars if hard is what you are looking for. JKU 2.5 lift 33 inch tires rear locker only. Destroyed my steering damper but no other damage. Never got stuck. but was pretty challenging. Big group took 6 hours. Don't solo it.

Nice trail. Wish the trail was marked a little better. Went off trail a few times but nothing too crazy. I’d go back.

Great trail , have Lockers

Great trail run I took my Ford F-250 through there was very fun there even was like a little river running thru there .

Keller Peak, The Children's Forest, and The Exploration Trail, all seem to be the same trail. It's always lovely, peaceful, and scenic. Like everywhere in SoCal, it gets crowded at about 11am or noon. Mountain Bikers show up about that time, and that's when I usually leave. get there early.

We started at 2N06X, still very challenging....

No view of the lake but beautiful scenery. Awesome in the winter

nice short pretty trail, elevation going up isn't that horrible. once you get to the meadow its super nice also flat.

Nice quiet trail.

Take water.

This hike was way cooler in the 90's when the boyscout camp was still there. This is the original filming spot for Friday the 13th. Crystal lake was only a shallow lake with is a willow patch now.

This is a real gem of a trail. It is fairly short and easy but you are rewarded with views of the alpine pastures of Little Green Valley, which are truly beautiful.

This trail is great and everything a "moderate" trail should be. Beautiful views, perfectly strenuous to get the blood flowing but nothing extreme. Great single track is fun to trek down. HOWEVER, the GNATS are INSANE!
They were so bad that we cut the hike short just 2 miles in before we just has to turn back. I'm not even sure repellent would have helped, though definitely bring some and apply liberally if you go. The moral of the story here, although the trail is terrific, is to wait until the fall or spring when (presumably) the gnats arent around.

Great hike with impressive views of the San Bernardino National Forest. See if you can make it to the fire patrol station on Keller Peak, it's open to the public with awesome scenery atop the lookout post!

We did Six miles out and back ..I love the hike the only things is there was maybe .5 section with gnats and a few here and there. But I guess that's Norman when hiking this time around. Other then that it was great!

My favorite trail anytime of year! The hike to the top is so worth it! Beautiful flowers in the spring and fall colors on fall. Light traffic .

I would definitely do it again, decently taxing uphill if you have a pretty good pack with weight in it. A couple of times it got a touch confusing because it appears to cross over a dirtbike path, so make sure you're paying attention, at one point it splits up on the left and down on the right, go up to the left.

Pleasantly surprised by this trail.
While looking at previous tracks for this hike I noticed the original track crosses the road and heads toward the children's forest, so I decided that would be my route today. Nice gradual gain up to the road near the children's forest, after reaching the road I headed left and took the first dirt road on the right that led up through the ski resort. On the far south side of the resort there is a faint trail that leads off to the right toward Keller peak this trail is in poor condition and is overgrown with brush but passable. Just before reaching the road again the trail drops steeply down a sandy dry stream. From there you have to walk the road for a little over 1/2 mile to reach the summit with the fire lookout and radio tower building. Although all of the equipment up there detracts from the wilderness feel the views are quite impressive in all directions. If there were a dedicated trail to the summit bypassing the need to walk the road I would give this trail 5 stars. On the way up I marked a waypoint along the trail at the area that would be the best to do a cross country to and from the road just below the summit and hiked that way on my return. I did have to do a little bushwacking but it was fairly easy and cut about 3/4 mile off the road walk, however I would not recommend this to anyone not well schooled in cross country hiking and good knowledge on how to read a topographic map. All in all this is a nice trail to hike in this area even if you just go to the road and back.

Fun hike to bring your dog on, the trail is relatively open and not to rocky. It pretty much has it all, valleys, great open views, rock faces, creeks, and shady spots along the way. When we went on 5/01/17 it was in the upper 70’s and I consumed 3 liters of water up and back while my dog 65lbs consumed 1.5 liters. At that time there was enough water in the creeks to do the hike (make sure to bring your filter) if you didn’t want to pack your water. On the way back down approximately one kilometer from the trail head we were fortunate enough to have a rare encounter with a juvenile black bear running up the trail then after seeing us took off down a valley and up a hill, pretty cool way to finish the hike.

I grew up in these mountains but the views never get old. Moderate trail we may try bringing the dogs next time.

wouldn't really recommend it right now. about half way through the trail the snow gets to be to much unless you have snow shoes or mico spikes.

Good moderate trail with some good views at the top. I recommend parking at the lot at the bottom of Keller Peak Rd rather than the top which the directions take you to. My activity tracker clocked 10.75 miles round trip. Good hike with you dog. There aren't any sharp rocks or boulder scrambles.

This is a great trail with beautiful views! Disclaimer: the trail starting from Exploration Trail to Keller Peak is actually about 12 miles and 2000 elevation gain. This was my 2nd attempt doing this hike, as the first time I didn't have enough water and only prepared for the length that All Trails stated. This time I was more prepared and totally worth the extra miles and elevation to get to the peak:)
