Beautiful trail, lots of shade

it's an easy trail but it's all open ground, so on a moderately hot day, it can get sweaty and tiring if you are not used to going outdoors in hot summer.

Very dry. There was no wildlife and “crystal springs.” However it was a nice good work out. Finished in about 2.5 hours

Enjoyed this hike today. Only two other hikers during the few hours we took. There are some benches at the beginning mile that are a peaceful place to sit for a minute. The creek/river wasn’t really there. Good trail. The return is a workout!

A beautiful and relaxed hike that still gets your heart rate up. It took us just more than 2 hours to complete at a leisurely to semi-fast pace with a few stops to catch our breath and take in the views. Prepare for a lot of uphill for the first part of the hike, but the second part is almost only downhill and therefore quite pleasant. Would definetly walk this trail again if I lived nearby.

A shaded trail, sheltered from the wind, and the bugs won't eat you alive.

Saw some decent wildflowers and a nice overview of the area. Very easy outing, good for kids or elderly for sure. Not challenging or scenic enough for me to want to come back any time soon, but certainly a good find close to RWC.

Beautiful hike but definitely not Easy unless we went the wrong way. Trail goes downhill from skyline eastward and after going 3.5 miles downhill and never reaching the loop we turned around and climbed back up. We are in good shape but still a pretty good workout. Maybe the description is only about the loop, not sure.

Great, mellow trail. Mostly shaded, some sun sprinkled areas. It was cool and foggy, but burned off a little. Mossy growth, clear wide trail. An easy loop with great birdsong in Spring. Pretty wildflowers and fantastic smells.

Very kid friendly hike

Nice hike with well maintained trails. Very casual loop hike. Redwood trees are particularly beautiful and the route is almost completely shaded. However, you never get that feeling of completely being out of a suburban area. Bring cash for parking too

Some of the trails are a bit steep in places but totally worth it. Where else will you get OXYGEN near a city like this? And the sound of birds!

Really nice well-kept trail. Quiet and beautiful. Barely saw a soul until close to 10am. We were there at 8! Definitely easy.

Shaded trails, liked it!

Good backyard hiking! Despite the short distance, it has a nice incline to challenge you to a second a
nd third round!

Great views and an amazing hike!

Did this exact trail and loved it. Well kept trails. Lots of zig zags. Some parts were moderate but plenty of shade that I didn’t need my hat. Parking has fees and would love to use the picnic tables to have a gathering or just use it for our packed lunch.

Great place for kids and dogs (and even better when the kids love dogs!). Good balance of shade and relatively easy hikes. Parking can be challenging.

Great awesome marked trail. Lots of choices and views.

You can hear cars for some of it. Doesn’t feel like you’re truly away in nature. Good for those that live close by and just want a quick hike.

on Edgewood Trail Loop

For a compact area, the trails in Edgewood Preserve feel well laid out. It's scenic, with a mixture of covered and open spaces.

The two reasons for the low rating is that 1) it's heavily trafficked and 2) you almost always can hear car noise. This is specially pronounced on the parts of the reserve bordering Edgewood Road and highway 280.

Great loop and easy category is correct.

I did this trail with Bay Trail Runners! Beautiful trail! Plenty of shade and good elevation gains for a challenge.

Great for dogs. I do disagree that the trail is easy, especially for beginners. it was all uphill for about a mile.

Decent trail - the switchbacks aren’t as bad as you think they will be on the way down. Lots of redwoods.

We sis this hike as a family with a 4 and 7 year old. The trails were very well marked and had lots to see. Definitely recommend and will come back.

followed the map to the trailhead only to find private property.

Great hike for kids or elderly, but for more serious hikers it’s def not the coolest score out there. Lots of foot traffic and noises...there are beautiful views though! 4/10. Also - beware of moldy poop on the trails. Idk if dogs are allowed but it certainly looks so.
