My favorite trail ever! It felt like we were walking through Narnia. Not many people on the trail and the views from the top were AMAZING! There's a bit of a climb, but it's pretty gradual. I went in July and September and it was great both times!

Good short hike with beautiful views.

beautiful valley hike. Lots of wildflowers and wildlife. I saw a bear off in the distance! Moderate traffic. This hike is a great hike to get some good pictures.

I don't know why more people don't do this hike. It is a very easy hike but it gives you that in the middle of nowhere feel. Little to no traffic. We were the only ones on the trail and were able to travel it with a 6 year old. There may not be much elevation gain but once you get to the end you will see an AMAZING view. One of my favorites in Sequoia. And if you want a romantic sunset to watch over the valley with the mountains in the background, what better place than the place with "sunset" in its name?!

Largest tree by mass in the entire world. No other words needed.

Shorter hike with amazing payoff. I don't know that I have ever seen such an amazing 360 degree view. I have been to Moro Rock more times than I can remember. Any time someone comes into town for a visit this is the first place I take them. A hike for all ages. Stairs all the way up and around the rock to the top. The views along the way are also beautiful! Two cons about this hike is that you are taking stairs all the way up, a little less than a half mile, and then it can be very crowded. But TRUST ME! It is so worth it.

I LOVE this hike. If you are looking to do a shorter hike with a great payoff this one is the one! We went in the middle of June and there was still snow! The waterfall at the end was amazing and full. There is a nice flat rock right by the waterfall that we had our picnic lunch at. You will get misted by the waterfall but we thought that was very refreshing. There is also a river right next to the trail for most of the way which was beautiful. I loved the sound of the rapids and how clear the water was!

Very easy hike and mostly paved. I don't really prefer paved hikes but that is just me. But I loved the sequoia trees. It is so peaceful once you get a ways in and the smells are like no other!

Outstanding hike. Scenery second to none!

Perfect for camping with the family. We went for a hike absolutely beautiful.

Definitely would rank this as a moderate hike, the inclined parts are very steady and nothing too steep, making for an excellent day hike! The falls at the end are even more beautiful than the pictures, highly recommended!

A buddy and I began our hike late into November and we went for about 28 miles before we were caught up in a pretty good sized snowstorm that was a little too much and had to turn back. Thats what youll get when you come late into the year though. All the snow and ice aside, this trail is absolutely amazing. At least make your way up to Bearpaw, the views here are awesome!

Great hike even in February cool to see the iced over waterfall!!!

Awesome hike during the winter!! light snow almost the whole time made for great pictures!! cold but worth it tread carefully with muddy trails and slippery rocks. Waterfall was amazing! huge reward at the end :)

We went up to check out this trail and loved it. We hit the trail and were excited to find snow had just started to fall. It was so pretty and peaceful.

Had a great hike with the family trail was just as the app described!!!!!

Interesting hike , not sure why it says that you can bring dogs, you cannot. It is inside a National Park and it’s even signed not allowing dogs. That didn’t appear to stop the people we saw with dogs .
More importantly there is a new Brewery in Three Rivers that is the bomb! Great place to stop afterwards and get a drink and some food .

Good Hike. For a 1500 ft elevation gain , this trail had a gentle grade than most other comparable trails with similar elevation gains.

The trail is mostly shaded - about 75% and the falls at the end of the trail is delightful. Tons of water and very pretty. Lots of small and large cascades and falls - be prepared to spend some time here .

There are a lot of thorny plants along the way , so be mindful. Worth the effort on a winter day .

Awesome views!

Hike is pretty easy and the bridge is really cool. I found a peaceful bolder and laid in the sun.

Great trail and cool temps helped make it very enjoyable. I would not recommend for the casual hiker. Trail is very narrow at times and rocky. Trek poles were very helpful. Falls were beautiful. Lots of great views along the way.

Go early to beat the huge crowds.

Crowded but worth the view.

Extremely peaceful and quiet trail with an amazing view at the end! Just some patches of snow throughout as of 2/16/18. I highly recommend

Heard this was the trail to do in Sequoia National Park so I went ahead and tried it! Solo, overnight. Relied heavily upon Alltrails app to guide me through. I couldn't make it to Pear lake due to the snow being extra thicc ;) so decided to spend the night at Emerald Lake which was amazing. I Went on a friday and literally saw 5 people the entire time. Even had emerald lakes campground all to myself! Pick up a self-register permit at the Giant Forest Museum! Lodgepole visitor center was closed when I was here, save yourselves some time :)

The Lakes were all frozen during the time I went, Please be careful if you decide to walk on them. Use your best judgement!

Trekking poles would be very good to bring on this trail a watch out for those pointy plants along the narrow steep path. Hard, but reward awaits at the end.

Hiked up to Heather Lake on January 28th. The trail is easy until you get to hump trail. It is quite a climb up to the lake but well worth it. We passed a few folks taking breaks as the climb was steep. Glad we took our crampons as the trail was a bit icy in the beginning and covered in the snow at the top. The lake was frozen but we enjoyed the view from our hammock :). We hike most weekends and like to climb so this trail was awesome for what we were looking for! Take it easy on the climb up. It may feel like forever reaching the top but you’ll get there and the views are very rewarding

Beautiful loop.

Great hike especially if you have kids who enjoy hiking. Went about 1.5- 2 miles in but you can go much further if you choose. It is also along a river most the way so if it’s in the hotter months of the year you can jump in to cool off at times.
