You can go off the trail to explore a little more when you hit the end! There’s no path so you’ll have to maneuver a bit!

The walk to the falls is somewhat difficult. I definitely suggest bringing a water bottle and packing light. There is little shade except for the area around the falls. It’s a pretty crowded trail considering the pandemic, but a fun local hike. Exploring above the falls area is entertaining and beautiful and a great spot for a picnic.

My daughter and I went for the first time about 3 weeks ago because we were tired of the quarantine and they had finally opened up parks and other recreational parks. We loved our 7 mile bike ride. It’s also good for running it has a running trail too.

Nice moderate hike. Make sure to come before 7 am if you want parking. Falls have a good shady area but otherwise it’s a mostly exposed trail.

Uphill battle the whole way, but the creek and falls are beautiful! Would go multiple times packing water and electrolyte-rich drinks. Be smart and take breaks, the end is worth the climb!

Fairly easy and very rocky trail. Make sure to bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes. Parking will fill up quickly so make sure you get there early. Lots of lizards and saw a rattlesnake on the way back. Overall, highly recommend

Beautiful hike during a cloudy morning. Very packed. Try to get here early before the crowds. Great uphill hike to the water

Great trail over all, there is a lot of rocks but not that hard to walk through. I do recommend bringing plenty of water because you will be thirsty going up. Over all the hike was worth it I enjoyed every minute of it. I will be back.

A good amount of insects (mosquitos, dragon flys, bees, flys, centipedes, spiders, etc.). The wide life can really be seen with the lizards and birds as well, luckily no snakes came by us! Bring plenty of water, I drank 3 bottles in total. There was shade on some spots during the hike but just barley, once you get to the top where the creek is at it will be a bit muddy. There are many spots you can go off trail but because of the wild life I wouldn’t recommend it. The whole way up and down it is very rocky, make sure you do bring hiking shoes with good grip or you will slip and fall. This is private property so the gate for the cars close at 8 pm in the summer, we got down at 8:45 and bumped into a park ranger that warned us about it being private property and getting a citation so be weary of the time. Since there was a full parking lot yesterday, I would suggest to park down the street in the non gated community, the walk to the trail will take about another 15 min depending on your speed. Overall it’s a great hike and getting to the top was well worth, this was my second time doing this hike and I enjoyed it more the second time, 100% recommend!

It’s a great trail but it’s very rocky so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Do the hike early in the morning or late afternoon. If you hike it in the afternoon make sure you are back by 8. There will be a officer closing the gates after that. There isn’t shade until you reach the waterfall point, so make sure to drink lots of water.

I was curious if this loop was possible since I didn't see a trail on any map going up the ridge of bighorn peak. I set out with my dog and 10.5 hours later, we completed the loop. Epic all day adventure with incredible sweeping views. Bring plenty of water and be prepared for a long day. My GPS showed just shy of 17 miles compared to the 15.4 miles that AllTrails software mapped.

Trail has designated parking area at the entrance. Wait for parking! My car and 20 others cars were towed for parking just down the hill. There aren’t any NO PARKING signs so it is very deceiving. Needless to say, I was charged $100 by City of Rancho; and $415 at (Steve’s) tow yard. Overheard sheriff deputy telling another hiker they tow hikers’ cars at least a couple times a day.

This was a mostly sunny, rocky, uphill hike, but the payoff at the falls was worth it. Cool shade (at least 10-15 degrees) and lots of rocks or logs to rest and take pictures. Only disclaimer is DO NOT PARK ON THE ROCKY SHOULDER AT THE CORNER OF DAY CREEK AND ETIWANDA. YOU WILL BE TOWED. There are signs that say "No Stopping Anytime" with a towing picture, but it doesn't say no parking. Being our first time and seeing others parked there, we didn't think anything of it. It's a little misleading, but you live and you learn.

Can we get in the water?
