The Sky trail is beautiful but very overgrown with poison oak in many places so be cautious and wear long pants. If you want to hike down to the beach from Sky Camp but avoid poison oak, I'd recommend using the Fire Lane Trail. It's a little less scenic but less overgrown so you can avoid the poison oak.

Beautiful easy hike

Trail was very shaded throughout which was nice. It was moderately busy but my group was able to keep distance between other folks. If you follow the trail to the coast (2 recordings shows this route) it does not go to beach but it is a very pretty cliff view with flat/open spots for lunch.

Great hike for novice hikers or people who want to get outdoors as the terrain is relatively flat.

I did a variation of this hike and made it a loop at the end by taking the coastal trail to the glen trail back to the center of bear valley trail. Gorgeous views and some points on the trail were quite picturesque, I recall an opening on the coastal trail towards the glen trail between thick overgrown sections that was beautiful. It had a small tree offering just enough shade for a break but surrounded by perfectly yellow tall dry grass. Recommend pants for these overgrown areas if you take the loop I'm describing. I wore shorts and regret it, no clear poison oak rashes yet but who knows. Enjoy!

Mt Wittenberg and Sky Camp will give you some nice climbing and amazing vistas. Bear Valley is a nice 4-mile amble back to the visitors center.

Sky Trail is a nice mix of sun and shade. Bear Valley is basically all shade.

Couldn't find a marked trail down to Arch Rock, so I'm wishing I would've accounted for that and built a loop with Kelham in it.

Heads up: plenty of poison oak on sky trail.

Wear pants and long sleeves because you’ll walk through tall grass for an hour. Beautiful trail with wildflowers.

Beautiful, dog-friendly out and back with some mellow rolling hills and a nice picnic bench 2 miles in to stop for lunch.

Loved everything about this trail towards the beach!

Nice hike, especially if you add on a stop at Sculptured Beach as some other reviewers have recommended. A few suggestions if you go on this hike: the trail is overgrown in many places with a lot of poison oak in the area, so I would highly recommend wearing pants; the Fire Lane Trail is quite exposed, so it is worth doing that portion of the hike in a cooler part of the day if it is warm/sunny (as it was when we hiked it).

Beautiful and amazing with kids. Easy and fun

Great trail!

Beautiful trail with a variety of views. Hiked this in early May at 10 am and saw very few people until our last couple miles. Sculptured Beach was a stunning side trip - succulents, flowers, shells and white sand. I’d avoid Bear Valley trail if I did it again - more like an access road as it’s wide, flat and filled with more people.

Excellent trail. Beautiful lush green scenery the entire distance. Glen Camp provides peace and serenity deep in the woods. Bathrooms and drinkable water are available at the campground. Highly recommended for a head clearing reconnection with the outdoors.

Ticks. I’d not do the second half starting Woodward trail. It was all tall grasses and scrubs. Tons of caterpillars and ticks along that trails for almost two hours. I got bit by a wood tick I think. Hopefully no disease transmission. No rash or fever so far t+12. The first half was beautiful. That’s the only part I would recommend.

Very enjoyable walk. Nice mix if Sun and shade. Plenty of parking in the main parking area, even on Memorial Day. A lot of hikes to choose from in this area, so there should be something for everyone. Of course picking one that has a goal of getting you to the shoreline such as this is definitely a nice goal to set!

Relatively flat trail that is largely in the shade and follows a creek for most of the way. Eventually opens up at the ocean to great views of the cliffs along the coast and rocks in the water. Headed out during Memorial Day weekend and was hiking by 8:30. Hardly anyone on the trail until we made our way back towards the trailhead and the trail was filled with people. Best to arrive early.

love this combination of trails - challenging, beautiful.

Awesome loop, especially if you op for meadow trail. Has a nice ascend

My love of the water makes this one of my favorite hike. About 7 mile hike from Limantour parking to Sculptured Beach via Coast trail, (I forgot to turn my recording till about half way) Really easy hike, great views, couple of wood bridge, Coast campgroud at (38°01'04.6"N 122°51'17.3"W) if you want to spend the night or two, just make a reservation. Also very important not to miss the turn to Sculptured Beach at around (38°00'40.2"N 122°50'33.9"W). Enjoy!

beautiful and totally doable in half a day!

Amazing trek. Challenging to get to the falls and back in one day but well worth the effort. Gorgeous views and standing in Alamere Falls at the halfway mark (if you are doing a day hike) and feeling the cool fresh water and mist is a good break for your hike back. Would love to camp at Wildcat next time and explore other trails in the area.

Really nice trail. Parking is easy and you may even run into a cow or two on the trail :) Very easy hike.

Not dog friendly. Drove out here to find a sign that says no dogs. Super disappointed as it looked really nice.

Great trail for on-leash dog hiking! We walked out 5 miles and back 5 miles from the north end. It was open and exposed the whole time (no walking in forested areas—that’s farther south) with a wide trail and beautiful views of the hills and the nearby bay. There is a point 1.2 miles from the trailhead where it’s unclear whether you should go through a gate and continue left or walk left on the current side of the fence — go through the gate!! The misleading path is a cattle path. Speaking of which — the cows can be extremely *friendly*, thinking you are bringing them food. If you have dogs (especially heelers) make sure you’re following the leash rule for their safety. It can be INCREDIBLY windy, so make sure you dress accordingly. I plan on going back and trying an out-and-back from the southern end.

Very scenic, views ranging from rain forest, to Northern forests. Also pretty easy, great to do it early in the morning. We saw deer as we got there early.
