A little technical up due to deep ruts. First five miles hard and in the sun. But from other direction to that point is beautiful redwood grove, shade and good for kid.

If you plan on taking Fire Lane Trail: after 2 months of COVID-19, this trail is heavily overgrown and I’m talking 5-6 feet high! At large sections you can’t even see the trail anymore. Needless to say, it was a pain in the butt to hike this trail. Don’t take it right now!

This site is closed due to Covid 19.

IMPORTANT: the significant portion of this trail is over grown with tall vegetation. This means TICKS and stinging nettle. For some part, you cannot even see the trail. Had I known this information, I would never do this hike. The only good part was I only saw one other hiker for 16 miles. Other than over grown trails, this hike is a blast. You start in forest like vegetation then it takes you to the ocean. Beautiful trees, flowers ( a lot of bees), wild black berries...this is definitely a must do hike when there is actually a trail for you to follow. At the end of the hike. I got three ticks and 2 tick bites. I also got stinging nettle even though I was wearing long sleeves. Other notable beings shared the trail: 2 snakes (one baby and one adult), 2 rabbits, one deer, various birds and bees.

Amazing trail! Great views

This is one of my favorite hicking spot. I recommend going early in the morning, the mist in the woods gives a good feeling.

Trailheads are closed right now (Covid) but you can park along highway 1. I did the hike clockwise. The first half from the trailhead to Alamere Falls is pretty over grown at parts and the worst: lots of poison oak! It’s almost impossible to avoid it. The trail down to the falls is also very over grown and you have to push though it. Again not a good idea with all that poison oak around. That stuff is responsible for the worst 2 weeks of my life! Let’s hope I got away with it today. Anyway the second half is very nice. I took the route along the beach and rejoined to trail by the camp ground.

Great. Starts off up and up an we went right once we got up to Bolinas Ridge. I think it’s more scenic going through the redwoods. Went down to McCurdy and then went back the way we came.

Lovely trail through the woods. A decent amount of uphill but not too bad. There isn't a view at the peak if that's what you're going for, but going past the peak a bit gets you to some ocean views.

Love this trail!!

Absolutely gorgeous loop. We spotted elk in the hills and a bobcat at the end.

Great trail and definitely a good burn but the pay off view was well worth it!!! Highly recommend it.

Nice walk with kids. You can take a small detour on Morgan Trail to see horses too.

Recommend going counterclockwise to get the hardest part done at the beginning. So much diversity in plants, wildlife and scenario. Definitely would say to take a short detour down to the ocean.

amazing trail and views.

Nice easy hike with great views of the coast. Parked at the Laguna trailhead which is right near the Hostel. The Laguna trail portion of this loop was very nice. Once you get to the coastal trail portion you can very easily make your way down to the beach. Highly recommend doing that. The last half of the Coastal trail isn’t anything exciting. That’s really the main reason it’s 3/5 stars. Would recommend for a nice day trip. Approx time without stopping at the beach 2 hours.

Bear Valley to Glen Camp. Then down to Wildcat and back. It was amazing, such a beautiful hike

Nice and flat, not too rocky. Beautiful ocean views!

Perfect trail for all types of nature lovers.

Great hike! Once you transition from Mt. Whittenberg to Sky trail it is relatively downhill from there. I highly recommend the short detours to the top of Whittenberg and another cool rock formation near Coast camp and both sculpted rock and Kellham beaches but that’s what turns 13.9 miles to 17.1. Totally worth it! The whole hike is picturesque, you’ve been warned.

Short hike. Good for kids and family. Not for hikers.
