Amazing trail but go earlier in the day- it gets hot!

Great hike, pretty mellow at 6:30AM. The water was flowing and beautiful. Lost my pocket knife at some point- it’s a great knife, black and green Guardian, assisted open. I’m sad it’s gone but I hope whoever finds it takes care of it better than me. Go early to avoid the busy times. We started hiking at 615 AM, got to the falls around 730/8. Began our descent at 815 and got back to the car at 9. Only saw 8 people the entire time and 2 of them were PCT hikers Bug spray is suggested. Horse flies, tiny flies, mosquitos

05-25-20 Awesome Hike. We took Exit 51, Parking is on your right hike is on your left across the highway. Fairly easy the first 1.8 miles than when you go Left to go down the falls it's pretty steep and rocky. Be very cautious and take your time. Hiking path is very narrow not many ways to social distance since it's cliffs on one side. There is a lot of bugs & flies. Wear bug spray or something to cover your ears. Watch out for CACTUS, during the hike and by the falls, 3 people in my party accidentally had contact with a cactus during our hike. Small black fly larvae in the water harmless but look gross. Rocks on falls are very slippery and some are very sharp. Watch your feet, husband cut his toe open. If you have water shoes WEAR THEM. Quick advice once you get to the falls don't try to cross to the other side through the rocks and branches with shoes on they are STILL going to get wet, just take them off. Bring lots of water, maybe a small tiny first aid kit, and SPF.

Great trail. Took grandparents and kids and they thought it was lovely.

Great trail! Fairly easy except for the last part where you need to climb down some rocks. The falls are gorgeous and plenty of swimming space. It’s super slippery so be careful and take bug spray!

Really great hike, old highway, thick forrest, open meadows, mountain views, old fire damage on some parts, wildlife, flowers and not a busy trail. I’d do it again.

Such a fun hike! Pretty tight trail but very safe. There are a lot of horse flies that bite you but the falls made it worth it. There is plenty of water 5.25.2020! Nice and cool. There are many ways to get here but we came from the upper East side down to the falls. Some people got lost but at the single PCT pole we went right and down. We were the one of two small groups at the falls and after 30 mins when we left the creek 5 or 6 groups came from left and right (9:20am) so early start is definitely reccomended. Take plenty of water for your pup!!

Went for our first time today! We expected it to be busy and it was but we still got to enjoy everything. It was really hot but the trail is pretty mellow. Make sure you bring at least 2 water bottles per person. & if it weren’t for some very nice people we would have missed the turn to find the water. When you get to the 2 markers at the top, go left, it’s steep but it’s a short distance to the water. Definitely will be back!

Just hiked this trail again, May 23, 2020. It is travelled much more frequently now so heads up on the trail traffic. The trail is good for kids that are used to playing outside. Dogs are ok, but be mindful of the time of day and heat. There is very limited shade, and you should bring plenty of water for your pup (and yourself). There is a moderate climb that's not too difficult. Just take your time, if you're out of shape. The turn off to the falls is to your left. You will see a couple wooden trail markers, when you get to the turnoff. This is where the trail will have some rock scrambling. Not too much really. At the falls, careful not to slip. The rocks are slippery, both wet and dry. I saw 3 people fall just walking across rocks. There's plenty of water now, but very crowded. I also noticed a high amount of garbage. People are not being very respectful of packing out what they pack in and leave no trace actions. I grabbed a bunch of it in an extra bag I brought with me, but some mentions are dog poo bags everywhere, pringle tins and empty plastic water bottles. I saw candy wrappers and whole lollipops, orange peels and lots of TP, to name a few. This will definitely cause a trail closure. Please be respectful of our natural places. Besides that, the trail is a nice walk up to the falls and back. You can choose to continue on; it's a section of the PCT and will eventually lead into Mount Laguna. Cheers!

Great hike! Pay attention to where you are, it’s easy to over shoot where to start heading down to the falls. There are 2 PCT markers a couple miles in close together, go left at the second one. Someone drew a little arrow. It’s not a well defined path. Sure was fun though!!!

Awesome trail. There’s some reviews talking about a lot of bugs. We had bug repellent on but the bugs that will not leave you alone are the flies! Big jumbo annoying very persistent flies. If I had a fly swatter, this is the hike to bring it to lol. AllTrails takes you to the lower part of the “waterfall” Follow me on IG: @lulu_and_nature

Loads of flies BUT I brought bug spray. Only tip I have is there is a way to the upper part of the falls and one to the lower falls! I’d take the upper if I could have done it again the lower trail was super “fun”

Great hike! Totally worth it to get to the falls! Lots of places to rest on the rocks and go in the water. Lots of bugs though, bring bug spray. A little confusing to get to the bottom. Towards the end of the hike there is a post with a PCT sticker, make sure you turn left there. Otherwise you’ll end up in the wrong direction.
